A: The beer is relatively clear copper in color and has a light amount of carbonation. It poured with a thin off white head that died down, leaving wispy lacing on the surface and a collar around the edge of the glass.
S: Moderate aromas of toasted malts and earthy hops are present in the nose.
T: Like the smell, the taste is quite malty and has flavors of both earthy hops and toasted malts with some hints of chalk. A light amount of bitterness is present.
M: It feels medium-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer has a good balance between the flavors of the malts and the hops and doesn't seem that heavy on the palate. It reminds me of a hybrid between an Amber Ale and an ESB.

12 oz bottle. Pours amber with thin, short-lived white head. Aroma is of grassy hops, barnyard and bread crust. Body is medium and crisp. Taste is of grain, herbal hops, bready malt and hint of honey. Finish is long and astringent. This brew is way overpriced.

Served on-tap at Texas Arizona in Hoboken, NJ
A: Pours a clear deep amber in color with very light amounts of visible carbonation and some garnet red highlights. The beer has a thin sudsy light tan head that reduces to a small patch of very thin film near the center of the beer and a thin ring at the edges of the glass. Light amounts of lacing are observed.
S: Light amounts of caramel and toasted malts along with some light amount of spicy and floral hops.
T: Upfront there are moderate flavors of toasted malts along with some light amounts of caramel malt sweetness and just a touch of light fruit (maybe pear). Light to moderate flavors of earthy, floral, and spicy hops which contribute to a light overall amount of bitterness which fades pretty quickly.
M: Medium bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation.
O: Overall a very easy to drink American Amber with a very approachable ABV. A pleasant balance between the malts and hops - not overly sweet or bitter.

I had this on tap at the Morris Tap and Grill. I missed the launch party for the brewery at the Cloverleaf Tavern in Caldwell, NJ. I'm all for supporting my state's breweries if they deserve it. The following experience made up for it.
A deep red-brown hue sitting inside a crystal clear pint glass. This one had a nice amount of carbonation, but perhaps because of the bar staff, didn't have that much of a head (though what died away was a stark white). The smell gave me some spice, flowers, and a bit of bread. One sip gave me more of the same with just a hint of chocolate, maybe? Even though it was a red/amber I was pleased it lacked the "suck on a penny" taste that accompanies some of this style. As the beer warmed a bit, the caramel announced itself. Very balanced between hops and malt. Medium mouthfeel.
This is a perfect pairing with my fried calamari with hot peppers. I have a feeling this would be a great counterbalance to most spicy dishes, a solid sweetness to mellow out the fire.
Overall, very drinkable. I appreciate that the beer gets the job done without a big ABV, and I could see having a few with friends at the bar, and being able to get home safely.
If you want a "sessionable", drinkable American red/amber lager, then this beer is for you.
I look forward to trying their black lager, "Blackhorn" which they describe as "a hoppy kick in the mouth with a silky smooth finish!" (Their exclamation, not mine).
