Growler filled up at DeCicco's, Ardsley, NY location. Rushing Duck tasting this afternoon at the store. Always nice to taste some new beers and get to talk to the brewer to boot. Do we live in a geat beer culture or what?

Pours hazed lighter almond amber, tight, tiny bubble off white head. Leaves quality lookin strands of lacing.

Citrus infused, hop forward nose.

Tasty and fresh tasting Pale, hops bright and again on the citric side.

Nice offering from a promising new brewery, just on the other side of the river. Looking forward to trying more.

Pours a gorgeous and clear gold with a rocky 3 fingers of fearsome foam hanging for the haul.

Mmm citrus and floral hop wafts atop neutral sweet and some really righteous light tart.

Definitely an interesting bitter hop here, really tasty, it fronts some nice medium strength hop notes of citrus and light pine that dance with the soft caramel and tart bread that also come to play. It ends juicy but the bitter is just a hint and is a clean drying linger to balance it.

Med. carb., clean on palate, medium viscosity, pretty much all in style for sure. Highlights the taste profile well, decent finish. Does get just a tiny bit of rooty herbal cling going after a couple pints.

Not the same old pale is what this is about, things have been switched up nicely to showcase the basics of the style and how good they can be. Love you Rushing Duck, thanks for coming east.

A lovely clear pale ale with a big, firm, head and nice amounts of clingy lace. Smell has a large amount of sweet bakery bread and piney hops. Nice fruitiness with caramel malt. Taste is so well balanced. Malt backbone is a good platform for the well done hops. Bread and toasted grains flow through. Lots of pine and hop oil for a dry oily finish that hangs and then evaporates. A biit of caramel lingering. Feel is smooth and lightly chewey. Carbonation is just right for sessioning. Dry quenchhing character makes this a highly drinkable brew. A very good and solid brew and I am looking forward to trying the other offerings from this new in state brewery.

I'm so happy to be adding this beer to the board. Rushing Duck is a recent start up based out of Chester New York. Dan Hitchcock (formerly of Weyerbacher Brewery) is the Brewer/Owner of this small operation and prepare yourselves for the very solid offerings he will be bringing to the market!

Appearance: Pours orange with good clarity, a 2 finger crown, lots of retention, and lots of lace!

Smell: A strong amount of citrus hops with a dash of floral to round out this hop forward pale.

Taste: A touch of sweetness, bready malt, orange zest, orange pith, and a small does of grapefruit.

Mouthfeel: On the thick side of medium bodied, a touch chewy like a nice IPA, but with a dry finish (don't let the hint of sweetness fool you..this is a well attenuated beer). Carbonation is just right.

Overall: A very hop forward pale ale with a well refined substantial malt profile that balances things out nicely. Not my favorite hops being used, but a new brewery rarely can contract the most "en vogue" hop varieties and regardless of that the brewers skilled technique really shines on both the hop and the malt profile. A very solid hoppy pale ale that satisfies your hop cravings, gives you a substantial mouthfeel, and makes you happy to order a few pints in a night! Nice initial offering from Rushing Duck that makes me excited to try future offerings!
