Very smooth interesting taste. It was served ice cold and it had a very crisp, refreshing taste. No after taste and it cleared your palate. This is my first review on this site, so my description might be a little thin. Bottom line, you won't be disappointed if you like white or wheat beers. It is the Best White Beer I've had.

Poured from a 330ml bottle into a pint glass.

Pours a pale clear golden colour with a thick creamy head.

Smells grassy and slightly stale.

Tastes very refreshing, hits the mouth and together with a thick mouthfeel refreshes you. Tastes of light malts with wheat and very slight hops.

Overall a good beer!

not sure yet about this one. my first brew from france. pours a cloudy pale yellow color with a tiny white head. smells a little sour, wheat malts, and some very mild corriander type spice. flavor has a white grape tartness to it, and some other fruity yeast flavors. feel isnt bad, good carbonation and a pretty light body. finish is a little funky with a bit of a stale yeast acidic thing happening, but its not a bad brew. the belgian versions of this style are in another league though...

A: Cloudy straw yellow in color, the beer poured with a half finger high bright white head
S: The smell is intriguing and smells like musty cheese.
T: The cheese flavors aren’t noticeable in the taste, which doesn’t seem to have any distinct flavors.
M: It feels light-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: The beer is easy to drink but lacks refreshing properties.

A friend recently gave me a corked bottle of Colomba as a gift, and I opened it tonight. Poured into an Allagash tulip glass. Very pale but hazy yellow body. Thin white head. Not a lot of lacing. Smell was impressive. One of the most floral and fragrant beers I have ever encountered. Smelled like a bouquet of flowers. Taste was decent as well. Hints of spice, lemon, and herbs were expressed nicely. Mouthfeel was thin, but that's fine with a witbier. Very low on the abv made it a smooth beer to enjoy. This heavily spiced witbier is something that I found very interesting.

This beer pours a cloudy pale yellow color. The head is a billowy two inches in height, and recedes slowly into a quarter inch cap that lingers. The aroma is of lemon grass, and tangy wheat. The aroma is similar to the aroma with the addition of a strong butterscotch character. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Overall, this is a beer I will pass of next time.

I'm, also, am surprised to see so many negative reviews here. I had this at a local wine bar and I thought this was a tasty beer and a very good example of the style. It's a cloudy yellow color with a nice white head on it.

There is a nice yeast and spice taste to the beer. If you like Belgian-style white beers you'll be very happy with this -- assuming you don't get a possible bad bottle like in some of the reviews mentioned below.

Has a light, yeasty smell, as of freshly-baked baguettes. Some subtle hints of spice pepper the background, but by and large grains dominate the nose.

On the tongue, however, there is an entirely different taste experience, dominated largely (and inversely) by the spices, which blossom delicately, but in full. The back of the bottle notes that the brew was "made with beguiling herbs and spices that grow naturally on the mountainous Mediterranean island of Corsica." Having never been to Corsica, I can't guess as to what herbs and spices might have been used. What I can say is that the spiced part of this beer reminds me heavily of the taste of tonic--the kind made with quinine. In fact, it wouldn't be a far stretch to say this tasted not like a gin-and-tonic, but a beer-and-tonic. That's not necessarily a negative criticism. In fact, the tonic-like nature of this brew makes it quite intriguing and appealing, the spices adding a lovely peppery mineral flavor, with just a shadow of mint, and all of that resting on top of a solid base of toasted grains. Really, this one has to be tried to be believed, and is worth the effort.

This beer poured out as a cloudy looking pale yellow color. The head was big and white. There wasn't much lacing if any at all on the glass. The smell of the beer had a nice fresh wheat and citrus aroma. The taste was on the lighter side. It's got some decent floral spice and citrus flavors in the beer. The aftertaste is a soft wheat flavor. The mouthfeel is smooth and a little watery. Overall it's not a terrible Witbier but it could have been better.

Pours golden with a thin swirly head. Smells very, very light- barely any aroma at all. What there is exhibits a slight lemon and herb note. The taste is better, Soft, lemony, and herbal. Perhaps coriander and rosemary? There is also some slight grassiness, light but noticeable. Soft in the mouth, I could use some more crispness here. Interesting take on the style, far more herbal than most.

a beer flavored with maquis? ... as odd as it sounds, it works surprisingly well ....

straw colored, with a medium head (for a white beer) .... smell is a bit odd quite like a barrel with fermenting fruits ...

the taste is very mild, fresh with some well embedded spices and a soury finish ...

it's encouraging finding such well made brews in such exotic places (from a beer-lovers perspective) as Corse ...

From the corked big bottle with no lot code or expiration date. Sampled on September 11, 2010. The pour is a very pale yellow and cloudy to the extreme because its unfiltered. There is a generous two-inch puffy white head up top and clinging thin lacing. Wheat is in the aroma but the overall nose is thin and unimpressive. Some light hops as well. The taste improves the first impression with its well balance wheat, spice, and malts combination that ends slightly hopped. But improving over a weak first impression does not say much. Drinkable enough but there are much better ones out there.

Maybe I had a better sample than most people, I don't know, but I was much more enamored with this beer than I see from the other reviewers. My sample was from the cooler in a higher end store so maybe it stayed climate controlled and survived the trip across the Atlantic better.

Mine was a classy tall brown cork-top pint bottle with a serious and lovely peasant on the front. Pours a frosted lemon meringue color with a subtle haze. 1" foamy head. I found it very creamy and smooth with hints of citrus and a nice mouthfeel (felt pricier than it was). Virtually no hops, and I do like hoppy beers, and whatever spices they claim it was brewed with are not evident to me, yet still I fully enjoyed myself.

This was $8 and to me I thought a really good value.

Bottle I recently acquired in Paris from the fantastic Cave à bulles.

Poured into my glass a hazy pale color, it let a lot of light through, but was certainly opaque. The smell was faint, but definitely contained some citrus.

The taste not overpowering but has a lot of what you expect from a solid Witbier. A great bottle to pop open on a hot day, but nothing to seek out.

Poured with a small to medium sized, fine foamy, off white head and no lace. Color is a slightly cloudy pale white yellow. Aroma isn't so good: a little bacteria, barnyard, overcooked veggies. Taste is better - citrus, slight sweet-tart, bit of malt, refreshing. Ok body and carbonation. Finish is decent. Beer'd be way better if you didn't have the aroma to contend with.

Drank this while in Corsica.

Very pale and cloudy appearance, the taste hits you with the flavour of maquis, with some added spice, perhaps coriander and some lemon zest, but wanes pretty quickly. There's potential here, but the overall feel is too watery.

25.4 oz bottle from Whole foods beer
A- Murky pale yellow, no head, looked like a hefeweissen without the head.
S- Subdued funky sour smell.
T- The sour smell does not carry though to the taste. Nothing but a refreshing wheat taste.
M- A bit thick for the style
D-Not a spicy or flavorful as a wit from Belgium, but an easy drinker and also goo food accompany-er.
Bonus this came with a nice crystal goblet with the purchase price. I believe this is my first French and I know its my first Corsican beer.
