Open just over 3 months now and really coming into its own. Just listed as a Top 10 place to Eat, Drink and Be Merry by azcentral.com. Mind you, they were listed with award winning restaurants and this is an ale house.
The place lays out comfortably with an open bar/dining area along with the largest outdoor patio I've seen in Phoenix. Music is good and the two TVs don't dominate the atmosphere and are typically turned off.
The quality, I will let others speak for them. azcentral.com Top 10 and the local New Times voted them Best Brewpub and they don't even brew beer. Lets just say the place has a great vibe going and it's because they get better every time I go in.
Service is good but the servers are clearly in learning stage. Many of the servers just need a bit more knowledge with what they're serving and I believe that will come in time.
Selection is the best you will find in Arizona. With the local distributor laws and a smaller local AZ brewing culture the list isn't what you'll find in CA, OR or CO places...however the variety and choices are exceptional to say the least. IF you can't find a handful of great options on the list then maybe you have some issues. I appreciate that it's not dominated by any single style. I'm always able to find a sour or a great saison here in addition to the IPAs you find all over. The quality of the pour and the glassware was also spot on. Hey, you can even order a flight of (6) 3oz pours for $9. Don't come here expecting to find beers that aren't distributed to AZ....because they're not distributed to AZ. New local brewers on the horizon should really help change the local landscape of choices over time.
Food is really good. Remember it's an ale house ala gastropub and the food is damn good in addition to complementing the beers. They just did a beer dinner with Odell and it was awesome. I also like that they're creative with spins on things we've all know, like Tuesday Night TV Dinners and house made pop tarts for dessert. DO NOT MISS THE POT TARTS! You have been warned. I don't think anything on the menu is over $11. They offer appetizers, sandwiches, salads, burgers (including a smoked pork burger), and many other dishes like fish tacos, a burro and some crazy good flatbreads...aka unstructured pizza
Overall this is by far the best all around experience you will find in AZ. Great beers, food and the atmosphere is very relaxed. I think a few of the dogs on the patio would agree.
Angels Trumpet Ale House is a hit you cannot miss. PROST

This is quite a nice place to visit. It has a causal atmosphere with a nice overall presence. From the outside it is pretty plain, but inside is nice. The decor is basic, but it suits it well and it is all I would desire in a Gastropub. The patio is great, with a little view of downtown Phoenix. The beer selection is quite good. They label everything clearly, with a break down of what type of beer, ABV, name and brewer. They have a great mixture of each style. They will have beers that are harder to find, local brews and good staples. You can find their beer selection on Facebook or you can go to Taphunter. I thought it would be on their web page, but I couldn't find it. The service was excellent, being attentive, having good suggestions and friendly. The food is quite good, I only shared appetizers with my friends, but they were scrumptious and a good size.
Overall, if you are coming through Phoenix or live here I would suggest dropping by here and you won't be disappointed.

Great draft selection and variety; exactly what you want to see at an "ale house."
Guests seat themselves either at the bar (about 12-15 spaces), patio or inside. Upon entering, you can pick up a sheet to make a 6-beer flight for $9. With 30+ rotating taps, the flight is hard to pass since each time I go, there are always at least 4-5 beers I've never had before. VERY HAPPY to see only a few local taps, very sick of PHX area bars loading up on local brew. Service is based on my bar experience only. Nothing to complain about; bartenders let us enjoy our beers in peace, answered questions and asked about refills once they noticed drink levels getting low. Atmosphere was that of a hipster bar, eclectic crowd including families and noise levels getting loud at times. Very minimalistic design inside - which is exactly what they were going for.
Not an extensive review but if you don't mind an ale house without games, TVs or anything to do inside, but will compromise for a great selection, head on down.

Great place. They had Many good beers on tap including a lot of local offerings. after much deliberation I had vertical epic 12, wookie jack, and the Abyss. The food is a little outside the ordinary but excellent. The Spam sliders are especially fantastic ( I know spam, right but trust me they're awesome). The gourmet pizzas and burgers ( you can choose from different types of patties including smoked pork) are also great. Most importantly the menu seems to be designed with craft beer in mind. finally the servers are all knowledgeable and friendly (Chelsea waited on us and was awesome). Overall the Angels Trumpet Ale House seems to be a great place and one of the few true craft beer havens in the Phoenix metro area. Highly recommended.

The inside is a pretty big open space. Minimalist decor. It is a good atmosphere. There is also a large patio with tables and chairs. Will be great in the fall.
The quality is good. The tap list didn't have anything amazing on it, but it was quality. The food looked amazing but we didn't eat. I will edit my review after eating there.
The service was a little slow, but it was only the second night being open, so it's understandable. They only had 1 point of service computer so our server had to wait in line to put our order in. I assume all of these kinks will get worked out though.
Beers were reasonably priced, and food looked like it was priced fairly.
I will definitely be going back here. 30 taps, 2 of those are nitro, and then 5 draft wines. The food looked delicious so I am looking forward to trying it out. I am very glad to have a good beer bar downtown finally.
Edit on 08.25.12
Went here for dinner tonight. The service was still a bit slow, but not awful. I had the 810 sandwich, which was good. My wife had the avocado salad and liked it, but it was pretty small. For a $9 salad, we were expecting more. It was almost side salad sized. Almost everything on the menu looks good, and they do have seasonal menu items too. Our friends got the radish salad and it was also small, and they forgot to put Brussels sprouts on it which is a main reason they ordered it. Overall the food is good though.
Something I didn't mention earlier, but should be noted, the place is quite loud. So don't expect a quiet dinner or evening. I think in the winter when they can open all of the windows will help with noise, but right now it is quite loud.
Also, the servers and the one bartender I have spoken with do not seem to know much about beer. This is something I am used to, but was expecting more from a beer bar. Hopefully the owners will make sure people start to learn more about the beers they are selling, and beer in general.
They are supposed to be getting bottles and will also be selling growlers in the future too.
Overall a good place that I plan on returning too.
