Somewhat cloudy light golden colour with a small white head. Fair head retention.

Lovely tropical fruit aroma with some passionfruit notes. A little grassiness. Good.

Crisp, clean and refreshing. Nice hop character. Light malt. A sort of Stone & Wood Pacific Ale in a way. Nice.

Medium-light body with moderately-high carbonation.

A perfect summer beer. Crisp, clean, refreshing hop character and nice light malt. Excellent.

330ml bottle purchased from Porters at Northwood.

Pours a slightly hazed, burnt golden colour, with a fine, somewhat flat head of white. Very decent lacing along the sides of the glass. Reasonable body and fine carbonation. There's nothing spectacular about the look, but it's solid enough.

Nose is clean and dry, with a dusty hop fragrance coming through above a slightly wheaty grain basis. Slight grassy tones, perhaps a touch of Australian Pale Ale yeastiness, and a touch of pepper perhaps. Nothing really pops, but it's again, reasonable solid stuff.

Taste is smooth and clean, with a slight bready, biscuity malt basis forming a decent platform for the brew. Above this is some clean, if dull, and slightly earthy hop notes that devolve into a spritz of mild carbonation and a yeasty finish. Bitterness is restrained, but it has a muted bite on the back of the palate. Feel is smooth and fluid.

Overall, this is drinkable enough, and light enough to probably have some mass appeal, but this is easily my least favourite of the core Riverside range. Again, it's solidly made, and still well-balanced, but it doesn't really do anything to excite me.

A - pours a cloudy golden tone with a bright white head and minimal streak lacing.

S - tropical fruit, grapefruit and passion fruit, orange and lime calippo, reminiscent of Pacific ale.

T - follows the nose, citrus and passion fruit prominent, very drinkable on a summer day.

M - juicy but dry in the finish, nice little hop presence, medium carbonation.

O - tasty and light, perfect for the esky on a fishing trip.

Pours hazy straw. Beautiful pillowy two finger head. Stays a while... lovely. Nice lace

Yeast and pear on the nose.

Taste is firmly into Aussie Pale Ale territory, and I am finding a lot of breweries struggle to make a half decent attempt at this. Coopers have it, HopDog not quite, Pigs Fly yep OK, Nail sort of, and now we have Riverside. All in all OK, but lacking a certain something to stand out. In this instance the yeast is too prominent, and a somewhat astrigent sharpness takes over.

Mouthfeel fine, lively and carbonated.

Good, solid effort, but is it enough?
