After much lauding by dmeadows, I finally made it here.
Just beyond what is possibly one of the largest porn mag selections in Western Vermont, is the beer selection. While not the largest, they carry many brewery's selections that we can't get right accross the border in the 518 such as Cambridge Brewing Co, certain Stoudts, Brew Dog... And the prices. Oye! I'd been wanting to try a certain Brew Dog beer for a while but the $15 tag everywhere I'd found it was off-putting. $6.99 @ Smoker's Den. Nice. If in the neighborhood, or just passing through, this is a must-stop.
Oh yeah, they also carry a small selection of homebrew supplies & some Vt brewery t-shirts.

Not that far a drive from Albany just over the border. The first thing you must notice is the comically massive collection of pornography. Then on to the beer. Tons of local stuff that does not make its way to NY. The thing I really enjoyed about this place were the prices. Even NY beers were $1-$2 cheaper here. The imports were there but the American Craft really was the focus. They had some Allagash bottles for the cheapest I have ever seen. McNeils, Rock Art, Berkshire. The people working there were helpful and pleasant. Not a bad stop at all. Would be good for a day trip for us.

popped in here on a Friday evening while headed back to Brattleboro after a business meeting in Pittston , NY. Took the Bennington bypass headed East, and, man...do I love living in VT.
Decent selection of Vermont Beers, including the usual suspect by Otter Creek, MH, Rock Art, The Shead, and naturally McNeill's Kona offerings as well from over in Portsmouth, and a wide array of Belgian delights. DFH is here, as well as some other regional favorites.
Yes, porn plenty of porn as well, wine, and Vermont tchotkes for the touristas. A solid beer store.

Just a stones throw across the border from my hometown. I try to make a stop here to pick up some goodies each time I'm back visiting the family. The store is basically divided into three sections; Wine, Smokes, Beer/Porn Magazines. Of course I make a bee line straight for the beer and take a quick glance while passing the magazines. You can buy six packs, twelve packs, and singles. They have just about all of Mcneill's beers in bombers and a lot of Rock Art too. They always have the seasonal beers from Magic Hat, Long Trail, and Harpoon available. Most beers that are on the shelf warm can be purchased in the cooler too, but not all. You'll find a nice surprise there every now and then. Great prices, but I always forget I'm in Vermont and just about everything is cheaper there. A sure stop for me when I'm in the area.

From the outside it looks like your average beer/smoke shop. Inside there was an expansive selection of cigars and wine. Your typical convenience store items and lotto tickets as well.
The beer selection was located in a wall of coolers on the left side and a row of shelves on the right. They carried just about every selection of McNeills and Berkshire brews. They also featured the standard Vermont brews as well as some Joly Pumpkin and many west coast beers.
At $3.10 - 3.65 a bomber, the price was right too.

Was not having luck in the Manchester area finding McNeil's beer. This place had a sign outside stating that it had several different McNeil's...and they really did. That's what I was there for. There is a small area for craft beer, but I did notice a pretty good selection.. microbrews and Belgians ( Orval , Theriez, DeRanke to name a few ). Didn't really interact with anyone in the store , so can't comment on service , other than the checkout girl was polite.
This was a happy find....was passing by after an afternoon at Maple Leaf Brewpub in Willmington.
Worth the stop if you're in the area.

Been up and down Rte 7 a few times before, never saw this place. Probably been there all along, I just never knew to look for it. Now I do. Definitely SouthWestern Vermont's best McNeill's outlet, and most accessible for the New Yorkers coming across the line for the goods...
Yeah, there's beer here, but also a lot more. Beer, smokes (cheap cigars & cigarettes), gifts, wine, snacks, shirts, jerky & porn. Coolers of beer and the warm stuff in the aisle that faces it. A good representation of the Vermont breweries (Rock Art, Magic Hat, Otter Creek, Wolavers, Trout River, Long Trail, Hornpout, and a dozen varieties of McNeill's bombers), plus regionals (Allagash, Gritty's, Shipyard, Harpoon), and a bunch of Rogue bombers.
A fairly good collection of the Belgian, German & English suspects and then some, but you're here for the McNeill's bombers, so what do you care? C'mon, right? And them McNeill's bombers are cheap, and you know they are.
Service is good enough, if you need them, I suppose. I'd say this place is all about convenience. Yeah.

Located on VT Rte 7 on the north side of Bennington, a big brick red wooden building just north of the Blue Benn Diner s-curve. Parking alongside the building, careful when you're backing out...
My regular source for a wide range of Ray McNeill's brews ($2.79 a bomber), along with Berkshire Brewing (about the same), the full boat of Long Trail, Trout River, Kross, and other VT micros as well as other regionals (Geary's, Smutty, etc.), located in a narrow corridor with sixes on the right & coolers on the left. Also a decent selection of imports (Unibroue, several Belgians & English brews). The staff know what they do and don't have in stock without searching the inventory, and ya gotta love it when the cashier is bemoaning the absence of Duck's Breath Bitter for the past three weeks. I see a LOT of people buying micros here, and the generally high quality of my purchases (I've never had a bad/old/off beer here) speaks well for how the beer moves out of here. The prices seem decent in general.
Appreciated - They package the beer well here. Get a few bombers, they put a cardboard separator in the paper bag. More than a few? They'll use a wine box. A small detail, but a nice one.
