Notes:
The Hopothesis IPA is the first of many cerebral drinking experiences. Our India Pale Ale is specifically formulated to be balanced, flavorful, and approachable. It can be easily paired with a variety of food and you can drink more than one and still feel quite lucid. Enjoy.

July 13 printed on the bottle, guessing that's an expiration but hard to be sure. Brewed in Monroe, WI... Minhas? Really? If its good enough for Randy Mosher (5 Rabbit), I guess so... *sigh*
Into a tulip glass it pours a dark reddish copper color, lots of sticky off white foam and lacing in the glass. Ok clarity, some retention after a few minutes.
Sweet caramel smell, light floral and orange peel, but pretty mild hop content.
Taste is similarly caramelly sweet and malt forward with vague citrus, a bit one dimensional. Sweetness lingers, a light bitterness in the aftertaste that fades quickly. Medium feel, the sweetness is a little session-prohibitive, but it's drinkable enough. Comparable to DFH 60 Min, or similar entry level pale ales, but even SNPA is hoppier. With so many more unique IPA's on the market, this will be hard to return to at $12 a six pack.
Half Acre's first beer was also contract brewed and pretty meh, so i'll give Hopothesis the benefit of the doubt that (hopefully) they can only improve from here on out.

Trying hopothesis for the first time and I am not impressed. The beer carries more malt than hops and is very sweet. The beer pours a hazy copper with thin white head that is leaving a nice lace. The scent is mostly a sweet malt with very subtle hints of hops. The taste start bitter with a metallic twang then turns slightly sweet and then finishes bitter. The mouthfeel is medium in body with good carbonation. Overall, at 7%abv this beer really serves no purpose. It doesn't taste good enough to casually drink and it is too strong to session.

Poured from their 12oz bottle...
Appearance - Pours nearly 2 fingers of a tight eggshell yellow head, body is a beautiful opaque papricot amber color, really looks like a hefeweizen. Nice lacing finishes out the look.
Smell - Sweet tropical fruits, apricot, peach, hint of banana, creamy carmels, floral hops, touch of fuitcake.
Taste - Wow, really alot of sweet banana esters and yeast flavors here, semi sweet peach and bittering peach pits, then some nice grassy and floral hops to balance. I also get faint touches of anise and carraway. Longer into the finish the hops get very bitter, leaving some grapefruit pith and dried rye crusts.
Mouthfeel - Nearly medium and almost creamy, the flavors are bold and nearly mouthcoating, carb is smooth and a touch slick, a few faint edges at the sides of the tongue. The finish is dry and a touch chalky. A fairly easy drinker, but the finish is definitely dry.
Overall - A very interesting take on an ipa, seems to have more characteristics of an epa to me, and the banana esters really threw me, but they work pretty well here. Not for everyone, but if you like a bubblegum nose and a dry bitter finish, you'll love this.

App- A very dark golden yellow with a one finger head. A little bit of scattered cling. Wasnt the clearest beer either. A nice rep of the style.
Smell- A bit sweet malt with a small hop not. A little bit of caramel as well. Very herbal and grassy on the nose.
Taste- A semi-clean clean IPA with semi smooth flavors, haven't had too many EIPA's but the contrast is quite nice. Malty sweet with a balanced hop attack. A bit more earthy and grassy still but still a little balanced. This wasnt the most flavorful but was okay.
Mouth- Medium bodied with a medium carbonation level and a nice hop kick. Grassy and herbal on the finish as well with some caramel.
Drink- Overall, I was in a dive bar meeting a 1/2 brother I never met. Well then. This was a tick.

A: A darker hazy copper color that doesn't let much light through. A small off white head poured into the glass with not much retention.
S: Slight hint of alcohol but it might be the malty bready profile that i'm detecting. A tiny bit of aroma hops come through, dankness mostly a little bit of cat piss
T: The sweetness is distracting from the dank, piney, bittering hops. It finishes dry but not nearly as much malt flavor as i anticipated with the aroma i detected.
M: Sticky and dry
O: Having not seen this beer in MKE before, I got a case of this for a beer exchange at work. While it didn't meet my expectations, being contract brewed they might be tweaking the recipe an not have full control over their process. With so many great IPAs out there its hard to standout, this one doesn't for me.
