From a 22oz metal bottle, one and half fingers of cork colored head. A hazy, copper colored body.
The smell of lemon and grapefruit.
The taste is interesting in a good way. Medium bitterness throughout with a short finish. Pretty mellow overall.
A little fizz in the texture. Moderate carbonation and medium body.
Great drinkability and from a metal bottle. Perfect for a camping trip.

Picked this beer up at the Hunger Mountain Co-Op in VT. Poured into my Duvel tulip.
A - Pours, surprisingly, a crystal clear dark amber hue with a thick and creamy off white slightly tan head that fades to leave light sticky side lacing and a nice blanket. Still...amber?
S - Okay, not bad. Nice light pine and citrus with faint tropical notes. Definitely getting wildflower notes like another member mentioned.
T - Taste is not bad. Not getting roasted malts, no, getting nice pine as well as more of the wild flower aspects. Some slight malt sweetness helps balance this beer out. Pretty tasty really. nice bitter finish.
M - Mouthfeel is solid for the style, that said, its a bit boozy.
O - Overall, a solid beer. Still, in my area I can get much better lagered IPAs (Jack's Abby) at half the price.

Poured from a sweet-ass 22oz metal bottle into a pint glass in high elevation Libby, Mont. Base Camp is a brand-new brewery, so I have no idea what to expect. Hopes are high. Reviewed live.
A- Three finger, hugely fluffy white head with massive bubbles. Relatively low retention. About a minute for the huge head to crunch down to floaters. Spotty off-white lacing. Ruby-red color with medium clarity. Alright looking beer.
S- Very odd. Chocolately malts and tropical fruits from the hops. Just an odd combination of scents. Despite the dichotomy of the brew, inviting and warm.
T- Hops are actually hidden under the roasted malts. It has the bitterness typical of the style, but presented in a way that stays both unobtrusive and uninteresting. Earthy hops, semi-sweet malts and pine.
M- Buttery, surprisingly heavy bodied. Nice feel. Well balanced.
O- Fairly good beer. Even better is the outdoorsy message of this new company. I'm a fan. I'll visit next time I'm in Portland.

I've never had a beer in an aluminum bottle. Period. That added to the novelty of giving this beer a try. The fact that it's a pale lager masquerading as "india-style" was curious enough.
Pours an unabashed amber color with a decent head into my glass. Looks like an IPA or amber lager to me.
An intense citrus and pine template greet the nose. Flowery too. Very interesting! I want to see how it drinks.
Flavorful with a mix of oak, pine and wildflower upfront. I can barely tell that it's hopped as it tastes more like wildflowers and/or pine needles were used (the bottle doesn't mention it). Just a touch of sweetness from the malt.
Lingering wildflower and pine flavors coat the mouth. Very flavorful and yet, very unconventional.
The most interesting beer I've had all week. It's nice to see someone attempt to take the lager category up a notch like we often see with IPAs. It's only 6.8% ABV as well so it's not too far out of the drinkable range.

Aluminum 22oz bottle opened on 1.25.13
A - Pours a hazy, very dark orange with a foamy light tan head with good retention and lots of lacing left on the glass.
S - Lager yeast dominates and some hoppy grass as well.
T - Bitter, earthy grass, dirt, and over ripe oranges.
D - Good carbonation and a medium body.
O - Super bitter and just off. Not there yet, but keep trying guys.

Appearance is great, fantastic packaging with the aluminum bomber (bottle shaped "can"). Beer is murky, ruddy copper, with a huge, frothy light tan head that leave big sticky chunks of foamy lace.
Smell is very herbal, light sweet citrus, oxidized.
Taste is similar. Sweetness like iced tea from the crystal, accentuated by the citrus hops, with a lingering herbal, oxidized taste. Perhaps this one was just long in the tooth, but I would assume the packaging would minimize that, especially since I pulled this from the cooler (at Freddies).
Mouthfeel is oddly watery, in spite of the apparent maltiness. Very dry, with seemingly high attenuation.
Drinkability is OK. The potential is here. I'd want to try one that is guaranteed fresh to determine if I'm tasting staleness or just don't care for it...but my assumption is that the stale hop flavors come from the lagering process and are a function of the recipe.

22 oz beautiful aluminium bottle from "Lifesource",Salem $5.99 As far as appearance, have to say this bottle is amazing, pity they didn’t have a screw top as this would make a kick ass water bottle. Beer appearance its amber.. kinda dark for a PL..large eggshell white head. Nice enough aroma..piney hop..light caramel malts. Nice Smooth caramel, Scottish fudge malts and nice grassy/grapefruit hop. I like Good thick creamy palate. Overall nice beer..and again lovely packaging

Purchased a 22 ounce growler at New seasons for a fiver.
Poured dark copper with big white head. Very tempting.
Aroma is a mixture of flowery sweetness and wood, like toasted oak chips or something. Honestly quite peculiar and overpowering. There is no citrus hop aroma in this can, but this review is of what seems to be an older can, maybe it is more than a month old. No canning dates available though.
Mouth feel is good with quite a bit of lingering bitterness. Not too overpowering but enough to distinguish itself from the malt.
I wish I could know how old this can is and wish it would have been more fresh given the price. Got no citrus and very little pine like the can said and other reviewers got.

Bottle comes as a 22 oz aluminum bomber with some interesting reading on the package.
Appearance (4.0) - Poured into a pint glass. Medium-high carbonation with a thick and creamy off-white head that leaves lacing along the glass. This is a dark copper lager, unfiltered and as such, not perfectly clear; although even when the entire bottle was emptied into my glass there were no yeast chunks or other floaties.
Smell (4.5) - Citrusy hops quickly give way to toasted malt and caramel notes. Fermentation is clean, low esters and no sulfur detectable.
Taste (4.0) - Sweet caramel malt upfront which is quickly offset by a firm, lasting bitterness. Less hop flavor than is expected for an "India pale lager," whatever that is. Higher alcohols are noticeable as the beer warms up.
Mouthfeel (4.0) - Chewy malt and thick mouthfeel, not as dry as I would have liked it to be. As a result it is still quite quaffable, but not necessarily thirst quenching.
Overall (4.0) - An interesting take on a lager and I liked the novelty of it. The beer could be improved by more attenuation and more late/dry hopping.
