Sampled on August 23, 2012. It pours golden amber with a small head that lingers and reforms after each sip.
The aroma is strong with pale malts, English yeast, and vaguely hopped along with biscuit and dough.
The body is light to medium with a creamy character on the palate.
The taste is full of English yeast, toffee, malts, and a decent semi-lingering hop bite on the tail end.

St. Peter’s Golden Ale has a thin, white head, some vertical lacing, and a very hazy, orange-golden appearance with lots of streaming bubbles (etched glass) and numerous, mid-sized brown chunks suspended throughout. The aroma is of an old, moldy cellar, sweet, overripe fruit, such as apple or pear, and some dank barley. Taste is of all that, with some white bread crust and only the slightest background bitterness. There is also an overriding sugar sweetness here. Mouthfeel is medium, with the well water being felt in the mouth as well. St. Peters Golden Ale finishes semi-dry, oddly sweet, and decently drinkable. Even though I’m betting this is a very old bottle, I will still rate it as very fine. It’s interesting, for sure, but I would like to have it fresh, one day.

Poured into a perfect pint.
3.25 A: Clear medium yellow color. One finger o frothy off-white head. Retention is a touch below average and a short ring of lacing is left.
3.5 S: Mineral is the foremost aroma in this. Grainy maltiness follows, then herbal and earthy hops, then a touch of butter, and finally, some breadiness.
3.0 T: Moderate bitterness sticks out immediately. Mineral and grainy malts next. Herbal and earthy hops. Minor amounts of butter and breadiness. There's also a bit of corn in there, which throws off the taste a bit. Not quite clean flavor, but good enough.
3.5 M: Medium body. Good moderate carbonation. Lightly creamy with a heavier chewiness.
3.25 D: It's decent, but I vastly prefer the English Ale over this.

1pt, 0.9oz bottle (green glass) poured into a tulip stout glass. Date/batch stamp 12148
Appearance: Bright light copper, thin white head, some islands and few strands of lacing. About halfway through the glass all the lacing gone except for a little bit at the edges.
Smell: Faint buttery malt and some floral hops.
Taste: Quick malt sweetness with some definite buttery flavor, then moves into some very solid hop bitterness - maybe a touch of skunk in there towards the end. Much more bitter than expected for an English pale ale.
Mouthfeel: Light carbonation, a little sticky on the teeth from the hop oils.
Overall / Drinkability: Not bad, but not a great English pale ale either. A bit unbalanced but okay. I guess it's a rather hoppy English pale ale.

S: biscuit malts with toasted grains, hop aromas with grass notes
T: cereal with woody notes and citric hop bitterness at the end that is lasting for a while.
M: medium bodied with low carbonation. roasty malt and hop bitterness of the end are well balanced Quite refreshing

Poured from 500mL bottle into a pint glass.
Appearance: medium golden hue with a moderate haze and moderate effervescence. Head is a finger of frothy ivory foam. Quite nice.
Smell: a whiff of slight skunkiness was apparent right when I opened the bottle, but this dissipated pretty quickly. There's a light malt aroma with a light graininess here; reminds me more of a pale lager than a pale ale. That said, there is a light whiff of hops which helps redeem the scent.
Taste: sweetish malt which is quite reminiscent of a Euro strong lager, strangely enough. A bit dank, and not in a good way. Hop character and bitterness are minimal. I'm not a big fan.
Mouthfeel: medium-light body with a decent carbonation and an engaging texture that, while not exactly creamy, is at least stimulating.
Overall: this beer is probably not objectively bad, but its flavor profile jibes neither with what I know of this style, nor my palate in general.
