poured a molasses black with a gigantic brown head that is still dissipating as I type. Eventually it settled into a thin coating over the top.

The nose is sweeter than I anticipated. Also kind of creamy (less surprising as it IS a cream stout). When I first cracked it the sweetness was decidedly a brown sugar aroma, though that has mellowed into more of a creamy caramel with hints of milk chocolate

The flavour follows the nose for the most part. My first taste thought was: woah, that is brown sugar. That has dissipated as I've kept drinking it, as the flavour has transitioned to more of that creamy caramel. The malts are balanced by an earthiness, though I would never describe this beer as hoppy. It does have a little toast flavour to it, and the little hops that are present kick in about 2/3rds of the way through.

Runs across the tongue decently, a little bit of bite to it. Fairly creamy, and doesn't have the overbearing aftertaste that can permeate some brews, finishes well.

Check it out if you want to. Not necessarily a must have, but you can certainly do considerably worse.

Poured into a perfect pint.

3.25 A: Black color. Two fingers of frothy tan head. Retention is about average and just a whisp of lacing is left.

3.25 S: The nose is subtle on this one. Moderate roastiness, light chocolate and caramel, and a touch of tangy lactose. Hints of coffee underneath.

3.5 T: The taste has a lot more power. Moderate roastiness with chocolate and caramel. Decidedly grainy maltiness and some mineral.

3.75 M: Medium body. Thick, starchy chewiness. Good moderate carbonation with a light creaminess.

3.5 D: Good beer, but I rather like St. P's other offerings more.

Appearance: Black. Leaves a dark lace head.
Smell: Light roasted coffee and chocolate.
Taste: Some coffee, vanilla, and chocolate. Small alcoholic aftertaste.
Mouthfeel: Creamy and moderate carbonation.

This is really a creamy delight. The nice taste of roasted coffee and chocolate coats the tongue. It's an excellent milk stout. I would get this again.

Dark brown in color, thick but not imperial stout thick, this beer has the appropriate look for a cream stout. A light brown head is dense and craggy, shows good retention as it sits at 3/4 finger for almost an entire meal, and leaves excellent patchy lacing. This has a solid look to it.
The nose gives off light roast, an earthy touch, a bit of vanilla, and a touch of something like tobacco.
A pleasant minerality and a light metallic touch to the earthiness are not unexpected given the use of what I assume are solely English hops and malt varieties. There's a mild but flavorful roast with the same vanilla-like sweetness. There's not the remotest hint of anything acrid or harsh, and there's something I hesitate to call smoky but is reminiscent of the taste.
This is a remarkably smooth beer. Creamy, silky and velvety, the only offense any beer lover could find is that they might expect more body in a stout. The thing is, this is a full-bodied beer. If you want to be destroyed, pick up a properly made RIS, but it's no real shortcoming here.

No bottle date that I can find, might be at least a year old though.

A: Pours dark brown with a big fluffy and effervescent light brown head. Head fades at a moderate pace, leaving very little lacing, just a little dots of fluff here and there.

S: Lots of sweet cream. A little bit of chocolate. Very mild.

T: Lots of cream and a little milk chocolate. Sweetness drops away, leaving a sort of acrid, bitter chocolate and char in the finish. Quite dry in the finish.

M: Fairly thin, not nearly as creamy as I was expecting.

O: Kind of a plain cream stout. Not as creamy as I'd like, and not nearly enough roasted malt to back it up. Just kinda meh all around.

St. Peter's Cream Stout has a very thick, frothy, tan head, a very dark brown appearance (ruby, under direct sunlight), and some good lacing left behind. The aroma is of sweetness, molasses, toffee, and dark bread crust. Taste is of sweet, dark, black bread crust, roastedness, some charcoal, sugar, cream, and dark bread dough, with an underlying and not weak bitterness. Mouthfeel is medium and a bit slick, and St. Peter's Cream Stout finishes dry, bitter, sweet, and fairly drinkable. Overall, this is a wonderful beer, and I highly recommend it.
