My wife and I eat and drink beer here quite a bit. Mississippi is still in its infancy as far as craft beer is concerned, but Weidmanns has always had a fair selection of beer considering what has been available in Mississippi. They recently got Lazy Magnolia's Timber Beast which gives them some serious brownie points with me.

We attended a beer tasting this past week at Weidmanns and we all thought it was very well done. Magnolia distributor sponsored it with multiple Abita offerings that are new to this area.

Food is always good to excellent. Have never really had a terrible meal here. Can get everything off the menu in the bar area upstairs as well.

Service is good in the restaurant and hit or miss in the bar upstairs. Occasionally you might get a yahoo working the bar, but it is good for the most part. The women servers in the bar are always very professional and attentive.

Servers are not very knowledgeable about beer at all, so don't even ask. If you are hung up on proper glassware and temperature, etc., just make sure to ask for exactly what you want. They have large and small tulips, pilsners, and snifters available.

Weidmanns is really a nice place in my opinion. It will probably always be my go-to place in town for food and drinks. I really hope Charles will cater to the craft beer crowd. The beer tasting the other night was a great start.
