Light straw color with a two finger head. Hops amd some other plesent notes. The taste is crisp just like the bottle clamed. A bit of yeast/ bread, some fruit.A small amout of sweetness and the beer was plesently balanced. Not bitter but dry finish that is easy to drink.

Poured into an A-B flute on 2/27/12
The color is a light straw and dulled gold; quite clear. After cresting at just over a thumb, the head slowly drops to a thin layer. Hardly any lace is left.
The aroma finds notes of toasted grains, bread, dusty yeast, grass, tangy apple and light fruit ensconced in a layer of metallic twinge. The fruit notes become stronger as it warms. Meh.
The taste manages to lessen the twangy fruit tones, but tin can metallic flavor seems to be the focal point here - it leads off, moves to the peripheries and sweeps back in for a lingering finish. It's a shame since there are some decent grain and hops notes in the center.
Light body, but it's suitable for the style. Carbonation starts off prickly but tapers off a bit. On the whole, I think the feel is too zesty.
I wish there wasn't all that metallic mumbo-jumbo; there are ok things going on otherwise.

Decent, middle-of-the-road pils. Pale yellow color, no head to speak of but that's likely the fault of the piss-poor glassware selection and head-slaying sanitizer they were using. Lightly floral aroma over malt. Not too "beer-y" smelling. Clean and crisp Kolsch like flavor. Sweetness was present but not overpowering. Middle of the road mouthfeel, smooth with some residual bite. Seemed drinkable enough.

First off, let me say that I can only compare to Pilsner Urquell, which I don't often drink. My thing with Pils is usually that they taste thin, have little flavor and are somewhat rough on the palate with carbonation. This one from Portsmouth Brewery (OH) was none of the above.
The Portsmouth (OH) Pils was the second beer to have been fortunate to respond to my thirst. Without actually checking to see what a Pils is all about "style-wise" (I'll do that later), I can at least say that the Pils was smooth, very well balanced between the hops and malt, and quite tasty. I would have one of these over their American Pale, which generally speaking is one of my favorite styles (I LOVE hops!).

Pale golden yellow. Surpsisingly thick white lace. Nose is subtle, with aromas difficult to discern. Some hoppy notes are finally detected. Crisp and snappy flavor. Good mix of hops and malts. Nothing overbearing. Finished dry. Good summer brew for those humid (vast understatement) days in August (and July as well as September!).

A pleasant Pilsener that seems to be right within the style. A brilliant and clear light gold body topped with a fluffy white head that did no retain itself for long. Light lacing at the start, diminishing near the finish.
The nose is malty with nice hop presence. The flavor is a bit bready, but does pick up on the Saaz hops to a small degree. The finish is crisp and clean with mild carbonation. Refreshing and drinkable beer.

My first sample at the Barrelhouse Micro Festival. It was right by the front door so it was a logical place to start. The samples are little 2 ounce cups, which will have an attenuating effect on the length of my review, but I'll try to provide some other good details to fill in.
It's been a while since I took these notes, oddly I commented that this had a light head. No kidding! Any 2 ounce sample is going to have a light head. The aroma smells softly of Saaz hops, which carries right to the taste. Same thing. Mellow malt taste, soft hop presence, not overly done, just very well balanced and evenly carbonated.

Tasted at the Barrelhouse Brewing Company Microbrew Fest on November 9. Portsmouth (OH, not NH) Brewing was definitely the smallest microbrewer at the festival. The Pils was decent although it is not one of my favorite styles. It was a full gold color with a medium white head. Pleasant hops aroma. A little on the thin side but they get points for serving it out of an Igloo cooler.
