A big thank you to cpolking for this beer. Poured from a brown 12 oz. bottle. Has a deep copper color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is kind of malty?! Taste is mild hops, a good bit of malts, a light bitterness. A refreshing taste but if you are looking for a hop bomb, this ain't it. Feels medium bodied in the mouth and overall is different than many IPA's, but not bad.

A: Caramel-colored hue with a thin but steady cream-colored head; some lacing but not much

S: Some subdued hop aromas: citrus, grassy herbs with a sweet bready malt backbone but pretty subdued

T: Better balance of hop bitterness and bready malts: toffee and biscuity malts with citrus lemon, tea, and grass from the hops--pretty refreshing actually

F: Decent medium body--perhaps a touch thin on the finish

O: Well, this is a decent IPA and one that I'd drink again but not buy--there's just too many American IPA options out there for me to give this too much attention

The local HY-Vee liqour store manager finally managed to talk me into giving this a try. A $6.99/6-pack helped.
Real pleasant aroma. Bottle stated mix of Perle, Cascade and Magnum dry hopping. It's a good mix. Fresh, citrus, other fruit a little flower and minimal grass. Real fine. Soft malt with hints of crystal.
Mostly clear amber with brownish and orange tints. Creamy head with good stamina. Classic looking.
Hop flavor is biggest and it's pleasant. Hop bitterness follows and is noticeable, but not to any excess. As it warms the sweetness of the malt starts to interact nicely with the fruitiness of the hops and these blend well.
The feel is the least desirable part or this brew. It seems too thin, not by a lot, but enough. And the carbonation is prickly and more than I want.
Overall a fine drinking, albeit light, Am IPA that makes the grade for a solid drinking ale.

Dry hopped with Cascade, Perle and Magnum.

A - Poured out a clear, copper color with a one-finger, tan head of bubbly foam. It left thin rings of lace on the glass.

S - It smelled of pine and toasted maltiness.

T - Good pine and citrus flavors with a nice bitter bite. It had a good toasted malt backbone.

M - It was crisp, sharp and smooth. A medium bodied ale with a dry finish.

O - This is a pretty tasty IPA. Should make for a nice affordable session IPA.
