Pours a hazy, dark golden amber coloration with a small, fizzy head. Has the typical Amarillo orange blossom aroma to it, with a light herbal note as well. Taste is dominated by juicy citrus notes of orange and tangerine, with a strong floral presence and hints of biscuity malt and a light herbal, almost peppery, note. Finishes with a light bitterness and hop burn and some orange blossoms lingering in the aftertaste. Soft, pillowy mouthfeel with a medium body and carbonation.
While I'm not a huge fan of Amarillo, this was still surprisingly enjoyable at an estimated 6 months old. A nice NEIPA with a floral, lightly herbal character, strong citrus notes, great mouthfeel and not a hint of booze to it. THis might be exceptional fresh.
