I bought this 22oz bomber at the Georgetown Deli in Wilkes-Barre on 25JAN12 for $6.99. Time to lax with a DIPA after my tasty steak 'n' cheese wrap... Nothing distinguishing found on the label, such as ingredients or freshness dating.

Poured into a nonic pint, it is a slightly hazy, muted golden color. Carbo is slow and scattered, while the head is a creamy and fine off-white layer of foam. Lacing was on the lighter side, but still decent. The aroma has some toasty malt mingling with a bit of grapefruit and a hint of honey. The mouthfeel was real nice. I got a touch of chewiness in the medium-plus body, and it was gliding easily over the tongue.

The flavor has some nice sweetness right off. There's some toasty malt mixed in with fruitiness, like apricot and tangerine, plus a hint of honey here as well. The sweeter aspect of the taste lasts quite well, and it's only at the very end that some rindy, bitter hopping comes forth. Nothing earth-shattering here, but it's still solid and quite drinkable. I'd get another, next time I'm down in PA... Prosit!!

Bought a 22-oz bottle while in Williamsport, PA. Cost approx. $3.50. No freshness or bottled on date can be seen on bottle.

Pours a clear copper color with okay head that thins to a lace. Good carbonation evident. Smells American hop citrus & pine upfront with supporting malt sweetness to back it up. Perhaps a little too much sweet caramel malt in the nose. Tastes hoppy upfront with a nice firm bitterness and a lingering resiny hop flavor. Malt is there and supportive, and does not get in the way of the hop notes. Mouthfeel a tad too heavy due to the perceived sweetness. Tastes dry yet sweet.

Overall, a very decent double IPA. Would drink again, especially for the price.
