Pours a very clear light amber with a finger of white head and good retention. Aroma is citrus hops and grainy malt with a bit of caramel. Much hoppier in the palate than the nose. Fairly bitter with good amount of citrus hops and a touch of caramel behind the base malt. Mouthfeel is smooth without too much carbonation, good stylistically. Overall a good offering, but they missed the mark with the lack of aroma hops. If it's going to be an 'india pale lager' I would expect some more aroma.

Props to joemcgrath27 for the hook-up on this treat...

A - Pours a slightly hazy copper colour with an orange hue, finger of head with little retention and some sporadic lacing.

S - Nice citrus hops, hints of cotton candy and grassy hops, bready caramel and butter notes.

T - Flavour is dominated by sour citrus, surprising bitterness comes through alongside grassy hop notes, bready caramel and citrus rind lingers on the finish.

M - Medium bodied, smooth and surprisingly wet.

O - Definitely a hoppy lager, a pleasant brew that is well worth seeking out and easily sessioned. Glad this one was included in the shipment, wish it were readily available in Ontario.

Poured from a 355ml bottle. This hopped up lager (or India Pale Lager) as they call it, pours a bright yellow colour with a fine white head. In a blind taste test, we're not sure we'd immediately identify it as a lager. It's packed with bright floral and earthy hop notes and just the right amount of lager refreshment. In fact, this probably has more to offer IPA drinkers than someone looking for an easy drinking lager. It's got some body, a little heft and a good solid hoppy bite.

341ml single. A hopped-up Canadian lager? Hook it up to my veins!

This beer pours a rather hazy medium muddled amber hue, with two fingers of puffy, rocky, foamy off-white head, which leaves some severely pocked painted lace around the glass as it evenly subsides.

It smells of bitter citrus rind, biscuity, grainy malt, a twinge of lemon juice, and further strong, bitter leafy hops. The taste is more grainy, bready, and biscuity malt, with a barely restrained bitter leafy, citrus peel, and floral hoppiness. So few words, for so much flavour.

The carbonation is decently supportive and non-intrusive, the body an appropriate medium-light weight, and just as smooth, sort of. It finishes off-dry, with a still strong bitter hop arbiter for the latter.

A quite agreeable hopped-up lager, the underlying malt not lost in the mire, thankfully, and full flavour permeating the whole shebang. Well worthy of multiple and unencumbered indulgence, if I may say so.

A 6% lager that's hopped like an IPA, with a Irish-looking guy on the bottle? I wonder how many consumers will be confused by this one.

A: Copper-bronze with a white head, thin ring of retention, doesn't really lace.

S: Citrus, floral and somewhat herbal hopping with pleasant sulfury undertones from the lager yeast.

T: Solid bitterness; toffee & biscuit from the malt; citrus and hints of floral character from the hops; hints of sulfur, but it's pretty clean. San Francisco yeast?

M: Well-attenuated with a light hop acidity and a crisp finish.

O: Somewhat reminiscent of Anchor Liberty and Brooklyn lager... but with more hops, a bit more malt and some old-school lager character. Really well put together, the flavours really work. The marketing might be a bit tacky, but this could become a classic.

A - a clear bright copper, thumb of off white head retained very nicely with random lacing
S - plenty of light hoppy notes of perfume, citrus, and pepper, light dry crackers in the background
T - peppery and leafy hops, followed by significant cracker grainy maltiness creating good balance, very light perfume, definitely balanced and tasty
M - light and smooth, just a touch of dryness, crisp and easy to chug
O - a hoppy lager turns out to be a great idea in this case, super drinkable with enough hop flavour to satisfy both my beer geek and beer chugging personalities

Appearance - Pours a light copper colour with a finger width of bubbly white head.

Smell - Piney hops, citrus/grapefruit, caramalts, tropical fruits.

Taste - Moderate bitterness from the piney hops, followed with citrus, tropical fruit, and caramel notes.

Mouthfeel - Medium bodied with moderate carbonation.

Overall - A nicely hopped pale lager by Parallel 49. Level of hops does the name justice. The body could use a little more smoothness, but otherwise an enjoyable brew.

I like the idea of an India Pale Lager. The beer pours a bright gold with some hints of orange. The head is thin, but lingers with help from the laser etching in the glass. There is a moderate aroma of citrusy and herbal hops, with hints of grainy malt. The flavor is well balanced, the malt is there and hangs around just a little bit behind a healthy dose of hops. The hop flavor is a bit muted, more orangey citrus. The flavor finishes clean with a surprisingly assertive bitterness. All in all a nice, easy drinking beer, but I was a bit underwhelmed by the hops.

Solid IPA that treads the line between GI Subdued hops and bigger notes such as Switchback or Tree. The beer smells good and looks good with a nice balance to the finish and enough hops to keep you interested. I am impressed in this brewers level of quality for the first beers on the market.

On-tap at Alibi Room in Vancouver, BC. They termed it an "India Pale Lager".

Pours a clear golden amber with a pocked white head that leaves some solid, sudsy lace. Body is extremely light, which makes me dubious as to the rest of the brew.

Bit of rubbery hops first up on the nose, with a cleanness that mingles with the rubber almost to give a smoky hint. It's green and clean, but it's not vibrant, bright or fresh—there's even a slight nuttiness to it like pepitas. I wasn't expecting such dusky flavours on this one. Still it's very interesting.

Taste is light and smooth, again with some mild green characters, but no truly sharp hops. Pineapple comes through, muted, with more of that nuttiness on the back, and a smooth clean finish with a slight organic character. Feel is smooth.

Yeah, pretty enjoyable and really sessionable if a 6% ABV beer is ever sessionable. It's not what I'd call an IPL if I had to brew an IPL, but its damn drinkable all the same.
