12oz. bottle served into a pint glass
The newest installment in the his series "Reaper Drinks Beer that People Left at His House After a Party."
"The world's first pale ale," eh? It uses the interestingly phrased "malted hops," an ingredient that sounds like a shortcut.
Pours an orange-brown. Boring. Basic. Bland. Bass. Completely translucent. A thin white foam spreads out on top of the body; less than a half finger in size. Little lacing.
Doughy bread & McDonalds hot apple pie thingies are the dominant smells. And tastes. I can't write a paragraph each for aroma and taste because this is too boring. It is barely a step up from Coors Light. Similar fruit flavors, a touch more grassy hop bitterness and a weak-sauce generic ale yeast flavor. It isn't bad, its just ho-hum. Any first-time homebrewer could do better (provided they have a solid recipe).
I hate the mouthfeel. Bass turns watery almost the second it meets the saliva in your mouth. Drinkability seems solid if you can get past the mouthfeel and boredom.
I can't even write anything pithy about this beer. Bass is just a boring product. If the English malts were more interestingly developed this would be a different story. Better malt character, less generic taste, and Bass would have something to work with.

Pours brownish with creamy head that fades quickly. fairly bitter initial taste with honey aftertaste. medium to light weigh and I remember it being heavier. Not much to say about this brew other than its just ok but a solid beer to get if a bar has it on tap.

Poured into a shaker pint glass. Reviewing the American version, brewed in NY.
Look: Clear light amber/copper color. The cram colored head recedes to a thin film with light lacing, if any sticking to the glass.
Aroma: Muted malts, subdued caramel sweetness. Tea-like faint hops.
Taste: A bitter, tea-like hop note filters over muted caramel malts. Not a whole lot going on here.
Mouthfeel: Medium to light in weight. Somewhat carbonated.
Overall: Very bland. Was expecting more.
