On-tap at the brewery. Served in a pint glass.
A- Pours a dark brown with an off white head that dissipates in a thin cap. No lacing is left behind.
S- Chocolate and raspberry galore. The aroma immediately reminds me of sweet chocolate truffles with raspberry jam filling. The base beer isn't really noticeable.
T- Raspberry filled chocolate truffles upfront followed by slightly burnt toast and coffee with some citrus notes of grapefruit and orange peel as well as some grass at the finish.
M- Medium carbonation with a lighter mouthfeel. Finishes dry with a bit of bitterness that lingers on. The carbonation is a bit sharp, but still easy to drink.
O- A really interesting addition of raspberry and chocolate to a black IPA that is one of my favorites. The sweetness is on the verge of cloying, but the citrus and coffee notes provide a nice balance of acidity. Certainly a fun beer to have and one worth trying if you have the opportunity.

This beer is like the dessert version of Midnight Ryder.
It is massive amounts of chocolate and tart raspberry combined with all the other flavors of the base beer. Hoppy and malty. Chocolate, caramel, and a bit of citrus fruits.
A bit bitter, but mainly creamy and smooth. Medium bodied.
Overall, one of my favorites, but I'd stick to a smaller glass of this one. Kind of sweet.
