Notes:
Regionally grown American pale malt is blended with rich European malt to produce a lighter bodied beer, bright in color, with a taut white head. Then there are the hops - four pounds per barrel to be exact. Willamettes, Cascades, CTZ, and Summits give this brew a citrus punch and spicy character.

This is a full flavored assertive apa. Seconds after popping the top on the can a fresh burst of hops emmenates throrough the air. Pine, grapefruit, some biscuity malt, and a hint of onion.
The "onion" was the first thing I noticed on the taste and before I looked at the hop bill I figured "Summit" was the culprit...and it was....but the nice thing is after that first note it disappeared as the grapefruit, and pine flavors really asserted themselves strongly.
Finishes with an unsweetened grapefruit type of bitterness. Body and carbonation are about perfect. Very well done. Take the Summit out and use Amarillo or Simcoe and I think it would be one of my favorites. As is this is one of the more fuller flavored and assertive apa's around.

Review #2900
Can holder dated 5-08 on the six pack.
Hazy brassy orange body, sticky thick foam that leaves behind plenty of lacing in the glass, so much so it resembles a snow globe. Lasting coverage.
Hoppy grassy aroma, dank and a little funky from the fresh hops, bitter dandelion greens and pale malt. Flavors of pale malt and bitter green hoppiness, it has a nice bite to it. Light bodied and flavorful. Biscuit aftertaste with some dry greenery intermingled.
This beer reminded me a bit of a ubiquitous local favorite, Daisy Cutter.

A - Pours a hazy darker orange with a large light tan foamy head with great retention.
S - Hoppy strong oranges, some spices, pine.
T - Orange and a touch of some hop bitter spice. Improves a bit as it warmed a touch.
D - Thin with good carbonation.
O - Hoppy pale with lots of orange and hop spice. Solid beer.

malty and hoppy, malty and hoppy. very bready, with a blast of dank pine. this is a beer i would have hated when i was younger. bitter, but not overly so, mostly a lingering bitter aftertaste.
the next time i go fishing, this needs to be in my cooler
