Tucked back into the 45th St Village-which has been an ongoing construction project in the 15 years I have lived in the area. Seems like the right half has been brought up to snuff and is "newer" for sure. The other side is a bit dismal. Anyway...
Decent location right on the water. Large outside bar but it was sprinkling while I was there so I headed inside. Somewhat small but a nice sized bar for perhaps 20 and several tall, long bistro tables along the wall. More tables in the back around the side of the bar.
Service left much to be desired. I was sitting for at least 5 minutes before the bar maid came over. I immediately asked for a beer and a lunch menu. She seemed harassed from second 1. Took at least another 5 to 8 minutes for her to come back. Meanwhile she is busy making drinks and getting beers for the tables in the area. There was no bartender to do that just the 1 girl. During this time a young couple was seated behind me at the windows, and after waiting for a waitress they got up to sit at the bar for hopefully better service. I saw a table of 6 get up to leave when they were not seen to, and were stopped at the door by the hostess who sat them again and sent a waitress back over. The 2 guys next to me must have waited at least 10 minutes before they got to place the beer and food order, and then they had to repeat it. Granted, the girl was over worked, but on a holiday wekend and the place was not swarming, they sure have their hands full. Very disorganized all in to say the least.
A decent selection for the area-many locals brews from EVO, Burley Oak and 16 Miles. I had to stop the bartender from using a frosted glass for me. Southern Tier, Flying Dog, Breckinridge, DFH, and others to round out the selection-only saw 5 macros total on tap. Considering how far behind the curve OC is, this is not a bad spot.
I had a crab pretzel-big pretzel covered in crab dip that was really good. All the other food I saw going by looked god, but this was all I had and 2 beers.
A bit pricey for sure. I realize this is a resort and nothing is cheap, but $8.75 for a DFH 90 Minute and a buck less for a Raging Bitch is over the top for me.
Outside of the service it was a decent stop. Again-there is not much in town. Easy walk from the convention center and the landmark that it is Seacrets. prices could come down a notch as well.
