Pours more like a brown ale than a pumpkin. In fact, if not for the label, I would think that this was a weak brown ale.

The appearance is certainly the best part of this beer. Cloudy brown with slightly more than a finger of head.

Sadly, it's downhill from there. The nose is astringent. The taste is thin and weak. some malt presence, but not much body at all. The finish is a tad sour. I noticed no pumpkin notes in either the nose or the taste.

Pours a hazy, deep brown color with a thin creamy beige head. There is a remaining thin film with sticky lacing throughout the beer.

The scent is of roasted caramel malt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.

The taste is very light; cinnamon, nutmeg, and roasted caramel malt are dominant, some chocolate malt is noticeable with a lightly bitter earthy hop finish.

Light body, creamy but prickly on the tongue, moderate carbonation.

The flavor of this beer was far too light, there is a lot to be desired.

Poured from bottle into pint glass

Appearance – Pours a medium to darker brown color with a one finger cream colored head. The head has a decent level of retention, fading to leave a medium level of lacing.

Smell – The aroma is a nice blend of pumpkin pie (pumpkin, caramel, nutmeg, cinnamon, and allspice) and some darker coffee and chocolate aromas. Rather sweet yet roasted.

Taste – The taste begins with a smooth bready and pumpkin taste. A caramel sweetness quickly comes to the tongue along with a light roasted malt flavor. Spice flavors of nutmeg and clove soon come to the tongue. A chocolate flavor later follows the spice with a sour citrus. In the end a strange blend of pumpkin, chocolate, and sour flavors are left to linger on the tongue.

Mouthfeel – Very thin in body with a medium level of carbonation. The thinness of the brew really was quite poor for the pumpkin pie flavors as well as the darker roasted flavor. Way too light and effervescent.

Overall – The appearance and the aroma were quite nice, but the sour taste and light mouthfeel for the style definitely left something to be desired. Not a beer I will likely go to again.

12oz. bottle poured into a tulip glass.

A- Dark, murky brown, with a half finger of tan head, that dissipated quickly. Little lacing.

S- A sourness (from the yeast? I get this on most Evil Genius beers) and some light cinnamon and nutmeg.

T- A bit malty, but bitter, and not in a hoppy good way, in a metallic/sour way. Maybe some light spice notes, but there's just an odd sweetness that is totally ruined by the off-putting bitterness.

M- Sharp and aggressive on the palette, not in a good way. Metallic, sour.

O- This is bad beer. There is nothing remotely redeeming about this. Avoid.

I poured this beer, and it has a a real dark brown almost black color body with a nice 2' thick tan head that hangs out for a while. The smell has a very small hint of spice to it, maybe nutmeg. The taste is very bitter and has a very strong malt taste. The mouth feel is ok and overall i'm not inpressed at all with beer

A - Pours a very dark brown almost black color with a 1/4 inch of opaque colored head. Sticky lacing is decent.

S - Smell is kind of sour, sort of like a Flemish brown ale. Little to no pumpkin or spices.

T - Not terrible it's sour like a Flemish brown ale with a sweet malt finish and MAYBE some cinnamon flavor. Where is the pumpkin? Where is the all spice?

M - Light and very drinkable.

Overall I am confused with this beer. Pours and tastes like a sour brown ale. I guess it's not terrible since it doesn't have much vegital (pumpkin) flavor but I expected more spice. Passable.

This poured out as a brown color with a white head on top. The suds fade away leaving a ring around the glass. The smell of the beer is spicy, not too much in way of hops or malts. The taste has a little bit of toasted malt in there but is mostly full of pumpkin spice flavors The mouthfeel of the beer is decent but nothing too impressive, it's lighter bodied and could use some additional heaviness to it. Overall the beer is drinkable, it's decent to me but nothing I would look forward too each year.

Grabbed a single of this brew which was included a variety pack of only pumpkin beers. Logged on and stoked to see I'm the second one to review this little puppy. Let's see how it matches up.

Appearance: Very dark and cloudy. Has only a subutle hint of an orange, amber haze. From the looks, I would have guessed this to be a stout. Impressed so far.

Smell: Has notes of slight pumpkin aroma and spices. Seems to have a light body/taste. Just comes up yo be just an average pumpkin ale.

Taste: Light flavor. Presents a crisp, and straight forward taste of spices and some pumpkin, but not a in your face kind of flavor. Bitter hops and possibly pumpkin mash finish out the palate. Very average.

Mouthfeel: Medium to almost light flavor and body. Medium carbonation. Not wildy impressed with this beer, but it does present some mild spices and pumpkin flavors. Most likely will not have again, but I would recommend it to a friend if they were looking for a beer to sip on all night and not worry about an overwhelming barrage of spice and pumpkin. Cheers!

First had: bottle from Pinocchio's Beer Garden, Media, PA

Does a brewery [other than Elysian] really need three separate pumpkin beers? Hmm.

Labeled as being brewed and bottled at Cooperstown Brewery. Wow, must be a tiny operation to have to operate out of the also-tiny Cooperstown Brewery. Poured surprisingly dark, a rusty burnt orange-brown color with a finger or so of foamy beige head. Aroma is somewhat distant, toasted malts, brown sugar, cinnamon, lightly vegetal. Taste of caramrel malts, nutty, toasted grains, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, distant muted pumpkin flesh. Definitely more spice than pumpkin here, and even the spice was not too pronounced. Medium body, fairly dry in the finish, came off almost like a spiced brown ale. Not bad, but not great.
