Hazy amber/straw colour topped by a thin, but dense, white head that showed good retention and lacing. Aroma of cloves, lemon and malty sweetness. This is over-hopped for my tastes, with a sharp bitterness that lingers through the dry finish. Citrus, banana and spicy cloves attempt to round out the flavour. Light body, a bit on the thin side, with moderate carbonation.

Pours a hazy golden orange with a foamy white head. Loads of peachy/citrus and cloves, very good aroma. Taste, hmmm... Not as good as the smell... Rather smooth, some banana and clove, but it is a little too hoppy for a Hefeweizen in my opinion. It does grow on you and is never unpleasent, but if the taste and the smell matched I would have enjoyed it much more.

Mellow hazy peach-nectarine body with a soft, fluff of white head. Light clove aromas mix with banana bread. Definitely a hefe, but there's a faint metallic smell that detracts. Taste starts with tangy, bready wheat malt with a little spicy clove and banana. Toasted, somewhat astringent graininss pervades. Medium-bodied, but not creamy enough for my liking.

Appearnace: Murky orange with a large creamy head.
Smell: Cloves and citrus are both nice and strong.
Taste/Mouthfeel: Hearty clove flavor with a hint of banana, and some bitternes. The aftertaste is somewhat metallic, and unpleasant. The mouthfeel is semi-thick with nice carbonation.
Drinkability: This hefe is average at best. If it weren't for the bad aftertaste I would probably drink this again, but being as it is I don't plan on it.

Bottle, about 3 months past "Best Before" date which I did not notice until after I had tasted. Presents like a typical German Hefeweizen, but lighter than usual (light straw colour). Aroma is typical but somewhat muted. Flavour is muted as well, and much drier than typical for the style. There are many significantly better hefe's around. Might need to re-rate this one with a fresh bottle, although looking at other reviews, it probably won't make much difference.

This poured to a nice light gold and yellow color, with a large head that lasted well. A thick lace looks good too.
The taste has a light grain feel, along with hints of banana. The smell is highlights the etsers. The mouthfeel is pretty solid, and it's easy to drink.

Gorgeous thick, rich sturdy head stis atop an opaque orange gold body. Some light carbonation. A very good-looking beer.
Delicious fruit-sweet nose. Touches of orange, lemonade laced with hops and sweet malt.
A fair amount of bitterness on the palate, a little more than I've come to expect from a wheat beer. Long finish that starts with a lip-smacking bitter hops freshness (almost reminiscent of an IPA) and mellows to a coppery sweetness at the back of the mouth. There's a dusty dryness at the very, very end which just wonderfully caps off this beer.
This is a very, very pleasant brew. I've tried a few of these now, and every time I find something new to appreciate. Wonderful job

When I was in the Army in Germany(town of Friedburg, Hessen state) this was a local beer that they sold at the Post Exchange and local bars. Nice color, usually some wheat and yeast sitting at the bottom of the bottles. Id pick up a sixer of this stuff most nights of the week and kill it by myself or with a friend. Much as someone would pick up a six-pack of Bud in the states. Only this stuff in alot better tasting, somewhat heavy and filling. Alcohol content was average if somewhat underperforming for German beer. Was mixed with Banana juice in the local bars to creat "Bananaweizen" an interesting drink to be sure, tasty. Tried it in brown bottles it came in , was also sold in tallboy cans. Brings back the memories, I'd recommend picking up some of this stuff if you are ever in central Germany.

This beer came out of the bottle a nice cloudy light amber color and smelled of hops, usually a good sign. The first taste feels like it's scouring your tongue with the carbonation, and has a nice hoppy flavor to go with it. I can't think of anything bad to say about it, it's a great hefe.

huge pillowy white head. strong fruity, spicy, orange zest aroma. very nice.
cloudy, glowing gold color. not too much sediment from the bottle.
great refreshing flavor and mouthfeel. mild mouth-puckering bitterness in the finish.
i cant imagine getting tired of this. great looking beer, with the aroma and flavor to back it up.

Came out a cloudy bubbly pale gold with a 2.5 finger white head full of contour and body. The glass is covered with lacing. The nose is strong with sweet and spice. The mouth is very prickly and light. Theres lots of spice in the taste, very smooth, with plenty of yeast. There are some hops here, but very little. The aftertaste is spicey, with just a hint of a hoppy bite. This is a top quality brew.

Sampled on tap at Solber Fäss'je in Frankfurt.
This hefeweizen poured a cloudy, golden color with creamy, white foam that settled but left lace on the glass. The smell was mild banana and wheat with some yeast. The taste was mild banana, malt, and yeast with a slight sweetness. The body was medium and the carbonation good. There was a tanginess and a pleasant banana and mild caramel flavor that lingered. This was a good hefeweizen fresh near the source.

Initailly a large head that instantly disappeared and was zero in 5 secs. No lacing whatsoever. Cloudly dark orange.
Nose of standard hefeweizen - banana, cloves etc, except it has a slightly strange orange doughy smell that I just can't put my finger on (almost plastic-like in some senses, then its almost like an orange cake the next sniff).
Cloves, spices and fruits on the palate that is clean, crisp, slightly tart and very long.
Good flavours, just an odd aroma that I really don't find overly appealing.

oddly for a beer which is so impressively cloudy the taste itself is quite tart and sharp. A long lasting white head lurks on top of a beer that hides whatever is on the other side of the glass. Refreshing wheat flavour with little to no lingering bitterness and a tingle to the tongue as it goes down.

Pour this very slowly - serious white head with a lot of lace staying. Slightly cloudy and a light amber color. Some yeast stays in the bottle. Very good hefeweizen, smooth, medium bodied, good summer ale. Good mix of hops and malt with a slightly hoppy finish. Wheat flavor but not overpowering.

Strong wheaty, yeasty aroma with hints of lemon. Huge, white, creamy, rocky head; fully lasting. Very cloudy, almost a dark yellow. Good lace. Wheaty flavor, but not overbearingly so. Lightly fruity with a bit more bitterness than a typical hefe. Pretty good stuff that is regularly quaffed in Germany.

The beer pours with a very rich thick white head. The liquid is slightly cloudy and dark yellow. Exceptional in all aspects.
The aroma has slight cloves but no banana aroma. I could not detect any hops.
The flavor has bananas and light cloves. With every mouthful, the banana flavor increases and improves. The wheat flavor is present. There is a tartness that is not from hops and the carbonation plays with the tongue.
The mouthfeel is creamy and full of carbonation.
I LOVE hefeweizen and find this one of the finest I have had since coming back from Germany last May. I would recommend this beer to anyone looking for a great wheat beer.

The orange labeled Hefeweizen has a yellowish orange cloudy color. The nice and creamy off-white head has pretty good staying power with a little cream at the bottom of the glass and produces a maze of lace from the rim to the base. The back label shows to pour most and then swirl the bottle to pull the sludge off of the bottom and then finish your pour. I tried it without the swirl and with the yeast mix and did not notice much of a difference. A soft fragrance of spice and citrus builds the anticipation for the fruit/spice flavor that goes down smooth with a touch of bitterness towards the end. I found this German Bier to be very drinkable and tasty. One with which I will build a lasting relationship.

0.5l (in Berlin) ... a cloudy golden/yellow beer, crowned with a creamy, thick ringed lace. Notes of clove, light grain and yeast in the aroma.
Smooth, creamy mouthfeel. Semi-sweet malt character with a mineral/steely backbone. Lemon/lime hop bitterness. Nutty suggestions, with a light rounding banana flavour.
A refreshing weizen, quite easily consumed, and enjoyed.

A middle of the road German wheat, which is not a bad thing at all, light, sweetish, fruity (banana), bubblegummy, but not overly so of any of these, very refreshing aswell, not overly interesting, but highly drinkable.
