500 mL bottle, poured into a weizen glass at fridge temperature
01.04.12 stamped on the back of the bottle, best before date I’m assuming?
Appearance- Pours a golden yellow colour that is very cloudy, so cloudy that you cannot tell the carbonation, with a huge three fingers of soapy white heads that takes forever to reside, literally forever like a good 5 minutes, leaving some of the most lacing I have ever seen on a beer before, period.
Smell- Is rather muted, with such an amazing appearance I was really hoping for an amazing hefeweizen here, but it is already falling short, although it does have a clove and spice characteristic to it, bready malt and wheat aromas come to the nose next with a very mild fruity presence in the aromas as well as a mild bubblegum smell with the usual yeast aroma as well that is always present in a hefe.
Taste- Again the tastes are just like the smells in the sense that they are very muted for a hefeweizen. In the tastes I get a lot more of the bready malt and wheat flavours, then the clove and spice comes through a bit, very mild citrus fruit in there as well as the typical yeast flavours, kinda tastes a bit like popcorn on the finish.
Mouthfeel- Light to medium bodied especially for a hefeweizen, it is well carbonated and is very easy drinking with a smooth and crisp taste to it.
Overall- Not really what I was expecting from a German hefeweizen what so ever. The appearance is so promising like it looks absolutely stunningly sexy, then you start to smell it and it is just plain old bland, nothing really going on even the clove and spice aromas are so muted the wheat and bready malt almost take over. Same thing goes for the tastes, very muted, bland, and really not a whole lot going on here, and the wheat and bready malt really take over even more in the tastes. Rather disappointed in this one and would probably not go back to it again, but it would be a good beer for those just getting into the hefe style as it is not overpowering in any way.

Never seen this German brew before, until I walked into my local Costco and bought a mixed case (18 bottles) of German beer. This was one of them.
Cloudy amber, orange peel color. Decent bubblingNice two finger head after the pour. Recedes to an almost full layer of foam. The lacing is not bad.
Yeasty hint of cloves and banana peel aroma. Add some lightly toasted malt wheat bread crust. Smells sweet and a little dry.
Yeasty dryness and sweetness. Banana peels, alittle toasted malt. Well balanced and rounded. Smooth and delicate finish with good carbonation. Nothing special, but not bad either. Great for a hot Summer's day relaxing. Great drinking beer.

12oz bottle, best before 5/12/13, pours very cloudy & ruddy, yellow in color topped with a tall, white head that holds incredible retention & leaves sticky lace on the glass.
Armas are bready yeast, wheat, bubblegum, faint banana, slight clovy spice. Tastes are spicy clove, bready yeast, wheat, a little banana, finishes spicy with a tingle on the tongue. Creamy texture and nearly full bodied. Overall, pretty good, but maybe needed a degree or 2 warmer while fermenting to bring out the estery banana and bubblegum notes, while toning down the clove, as it's pretty dominant. Still a fairly decent Hefeweizen though.

Bottle from Frankfurt.
A - Towering, creamy white cap of foam. Stellar retention and lace. Hazy, opaque pear juice body. Straight hefe.
S - Dry bread, creamsicle, orange zest, banana peel.
T - Big, sweet wheat note right up front. Mango, bread crust, honey, banana bread. A nice long finish that really clings to your palate.
M - Medium body. Light lemon brightness. Thick backend.
O - A solid hefe with great smoothness.

Picked up a single at EuroMarket in Astoria for $2. It poured a murky amber with a short white head. Mmm, there's a nice juicy aroma and flavor with a mix of banana and orange peel. There's a mild spice and smooth bready undertone. The clove is mild and pleasant, but the flavors seems to drop out toward the finish. You might say it's too clean for a hefe, but I like it. The banana notes ar especially tasty without going over the top or dominating the beer. Give this a try.

On draft at The Lark, East Northport, NY.
Poured a hazy bright orange hue with a three finger frothy white head. There was good retention and lacing.
The smell featured mild esters and a touch adjunct like sweetness.
The taste consisted of a subtle wheat spice and touch of esters.
The mouthfeel was toward the thinner side of the style with dome chewiness.
Overall a serviceable hefe.
