I really don't think this beer lived up to the hype surrounding it and the price is ridiculous. I can have a Milwaukee BEST Ice that tastes waaay better than this and is priced at an awesome $13 for a 30 pack.
I really did expect a lot more from the Bud Light family.. but I was sadly disappointed.

Bottle provided by my friend Brian, thanks!
Pale yellow with a white head that vanished also instantly.
Grape-like fruity aroma. Weirdly wine-like.
The flavor, strangly, is also wine-like, with notes of white grape juice. Better than most beers in this style, with more flavor. Though see my final graf for my thoughts on it being a light lager. No hop flavor at all.
At 6 percent, I'm not really sure you can call this a light lager, especially considering it has more alcohol than Budweiser. It's better than I expected.

I've never been a Bud Light fan, but I was curious about this one. I didn't wanna spend 7 bucks on a six pack, so I decided to wait for a double deuce to come out. Finally saw one at the gas station and picked it up. Boy I sure am glad I didn't buy a sixer.
I agree with the guy below me, Anheuser-Busch took a lousy beer and made it terrible. Pours out light yellow (probably why they call it platinum) and foamy as all hell. If you were to take a Bud Light, and pour two restaurant sugar packets in it, you'd have this.
I always try to find something good in every beer I try, but it's nowhere to be found here. I hate to slam a beer like this, but this is just awful. Not worth a dime, I'd take a Natty Light any day over this.

12 oz bottle into nonic
A: clear, carbonated and barely straw colored
S: sweet grain and not very much of it
T: overwhelmingly sweet, slight bitterness, hint of alcohol, cooked grain
M: light, clean, slight burn
O: They took a pretty bad beer and made it worse. This one is getting dumped.

Poured into a standard pint glass, color is straw gold, head is 1/2'' thick, but dissipates immediately.
Smell is grainy, bland, corn, ugh.
Taste is all corn and awful grain - i'm going to pour out a portion of it.
Mouthfeel is way over caronated, too crisp and mixed with over sweetened - but not to balance or blend.
Overall, awful beer.

A slightly aggressive pour gets me half a finger of bubbly white head that disappears in less than a minute. Body is a clear pale straw color. A multitude of bubbles is noted rushing bottom to top.
Smell is watery adjunct. Sweet corn and pale sweet malts up front. Light grassy hops in there as well.
Flavor is similar to regular Bud Light, but somehow slightly more enjoyable. Sweet corn and malts, vaguely bitter grassy hops, everything seeming rather watery.
Again, I can't help but compare this to the original. Body seems slightly fuller and more sophisticated.

When pouring this beer it looked clear coming out of the bottle. I was a bit confused, not sure what to expect from here on. Glass filled, there is a bit of color, but mostly looks like water with some bud light splashed in giving a clear slight straw color. An aggressive pour yields a small head that in gone in seconds with no lacing whatsoever.
Aroma is a combination of malt and metallic notes. Thankfully it's very dull.
Taste is similar to the smell, a strong metallic taste which may be why they named it platinum. Has a strange aftertaste which is very hard to describe other than awful.
This beer is very carbonated; has me burping like crazy.
Overall this is one of the worst beers I've ever had. It's extremely hard to finish the bottle. Even the bump in ABV does not make up for it's failures.

Appearance - Pours a clear golden color with a half inch thick, soapy white head that dissipates instantly. Has a nice lacing to it.
Smell - Slightly sweet with malts, bread, and corn.
Taste - A lot sweeter in the flavor.. with some pale malts, corn, grains, and a bitter alcohol bite in the finish.
Mouthfeel - Light bodied with high carbonation.
Overall - I wouldn't get this again. I don't like the alcohol taste lingering in my mouth. I guess you can't really expect a simplistic, light beer to cover up 6% ABV.. lol

Bottle: Poured a clear pale yellow color lager with a small bubbly head with minimal retention. Aroma consists of light sweet malt with well hidden adjunct. Taste is also dominated by sweet malt with no clearly identifiable adjunct but also very limited characteristics. Body is light with average carbonation. I actually drank this side-by-side with a regular bud light and I must say that the platinum is actually better though still quite bland in the grand scheme of things.

This is an interesting one. The most confusing part to me is how they are able to pass this as a light beer. it only has a handful of calories less than regular Budweiser. I think it would have made more sense to simply call it 'Budweiser Platinum'. I think the main purpose was to produce a beer with a slightly boosted ABV. Because that's what it tastes like. A Bud with some more alcohol. That makes it a better choice than Bud or Bud Light if you want to get wasted. It's redeeming qualites stop there i think.

Pours a pale golden color with a short lived white head. Nose reveals a striking similarity to Bud Light. Corn, sweet cereal, no hops, faint yeast, and minimal esters. Maybe not quite as watery. Flavor does have a touch of hop character, but otherwise your typical light/pale lager. Cereal and grain sweetness, mild yeast, and some water. Very high carbonation and very light body. I actually like it better than Bud Light.

Poured from a 12 oz bottle into a pint glass. Poured a clear pale yellow color, produces a small amount of head and no retention. Aroma of this Light Lager consists of bread and grain. Light in body, this brew has some slight grain flavor, mild hop bitterness and a warm finish. I'm not sure where AB is going with this beer, what category they are trying to fill, but i think it has less to do with beer style and more to do with trying to fill up shelf space. This will be another short lived failure by AB/INBEV.

This is my second review of Bud Light Platinum. Comparing this to my new found love of IPA's, Let's see what we get. Poured from a mini keg into a lager glass. Pours a piss yellow with half a finger's worth of foamy head, Leaving absolutely no lacing. The smell was horrendous. Rotten corn, Vomit, and some stale rice. The taste wasn't much better. Some chemical grain, the faintest amount of malt, and perhaps some rubbing alchohol? Tasted horrendous compared to crafts. The mouthfeel was a heavy metallic flavor with even more of what seemed like burning chemicals coming through. This beer is not smooth whatsoever. Overall, This is absolute garbage, And I am glad that I had finally made the choice to start exploring REAL beer. I cannot believe I used to drink this slop and enjoy it.

Appearance: Very clear straw yellow color, had a small head about one finger thick after pouring
Smell: Typical light lager aromas. Grainy and corny aroma with a cereal odor to it as well
Taste: Very crisp but also very plain. Has the cheapness taste that regular Bud Light has
Mouthfeel: Very light, watered down. Very thin as well, not much of a feel to really speak of.
Overall: This beer has no real flavor to speak of, with a poor feel and not a great smell this beer ranks very low for me. I would rather drink Bud Light even with the lower ABV.

Appearance
Poured from a pretty blue bottle, which successfully hides the "watered-down apple juice" look. It almost reminds me of apple wine mixed with carbonated water, a popular drink in Frankfurt, Germany. The complete lack of head completes the picture.
Smell
Typical macro-lager smell: corn, grains, and canned mushrooms. Nothing else to smell here, move along.
Taste
There is a slight hint of cheap beer up front, then a sweetness reminiscent of (again) apple juice, a split-second of slight bitterness, and then nothing. One of the most forgettable and un-beery taste profile's I've ever tried. But it lacks the urine-flavor many BMCs tend to have. That's good, right? Right?
Mouthfeel
I honestly can't stop comparing this to watered down apple juice. If someone told me that this was in fact 75% carbonated water and 25% apple juice, I'd believe it in a heartbeat.
Overall
Imagine Keystone Light, with a hint of apple juice and water from a can of canned corn. It's fizzy, forgettable, forthright fraudulent. This doesn't even go well with pizza.

I would like to publicly blame Goblinmunkey7 for my possession of this beer. Or perhaps thank?
Appearance: Reluctantly poured this out of its neon blue, non-refundable bottle - clear, golden straw - looks like a typical light lager (a dull, pale yellow) - starts with and retains a small, fizzy white head - surprisingly, leaves some lacing
Smell: Water, with some sweet corn and alcohol - kind of smells like a remarkably clean malt liquor that has been watered down - some hints of light, pale grains
Taste: Seltzer water blended with corn, with a touch of white bread - inoffensive and clean - a touch of grain, some corn husk - not much else, I'm afraid
Mouthfeel: Light, fizzy, smooth, easy to drink on a night filled with bad decisions
Overall: BL NUMS PLZ
I can't decide whether to be amused or to be concerned that the existence of this beer is a legitimate sign that the world is ending. Regardless, I think I prefer this to Bud Light. As Bud Light is nothing short of a watery alcohol-delivery system, I guess if you're in the market for this type of beverage, you might as well go for something with 6.00% ABV.

Well, what can I say? I was thirsty as all-get-out, and it’s hotter than a Wookiee’s temper here in Atlanta. I decided to give it a try. Guess what - it exceeded my expectations. Crisp aroma is better than what I expected. It’s called Light, but it actually smells like beer! OK, not an outstanding aroma, but at least it doesn’t smell like water. It pours a rather typical clear, wan straw yellow with not much head. Flavor is nothing special - but as I said, better than what I expected from a mega-brewed light beer. Crisp, malty with a hint of fruit. Texture is fairly fizzy, smooth, average body. For a light beer, and a megabrewed pale lager, not half bad.

Not at all what I exepected from this beer.
Poured from bottle into a pint glass;
Appearance: Light amber in color, the head was about 1 finger with nothing for lacing on the glass.
Smell: I found it to have a old musky smell, what I would describe as a very old book in a very old house.
Mouthfeel: Definatly a lighter beer, could not detect any real flavors of hops, it had a stale taste to it. After taste was just alcohol.
Overall: I actually thought I might enjoy this beer with all the hype put into it. I was disappointed with it. If I drink any thing like this, I will stick with regular Bud Light.

A- Pours just like a bud light. Clear, yellow-golden color. Very fizzy head, but no retention or lacing.
S- Kinda smells like a malt liquor. Very malty and sweet scents on the nose. Mostly cereal malts, rice, corn, etc.
T- Tastes like it smells. Very sweet, and just like a malt liquor. Very light with tons of cereal grains. No hops detectable.
M- Very light and very carbonated. Capitalizes on the word "drinkability." Light and refreshing on such a hot day.
Overall, on hot days where this is ice cold, is about the only use for it. About the same as bud light, just with more alcohol and a little sweeter.

Poured chilled into a Perfect Pint and let warmed up to about 50º.
A=Pale and murky...light greenish yellow. Head left quickly but a 1/4" head remained at the end.
S=Pungent smell of hops...more like stale hops left over from a house party. Sour, not appealing.
T=Rather smooth...quite hoppy, with sweetness of corn present and a bit sour. Slightly more flavorful than other light beers, but lacking barley.
M=Very drinkable...cannot detect higher alcohol and minimal carbonation. Designed for msss consumption.
O=A bit better than I anticipated...no longer a fan of light beers...as lights go, this was alright if you like the heavy hops and sweetness.

Served in a pilsner glass
A - It is straw colored, and I got a giant white head. It quickly vanished. Looks like a lot of carbonation.
S - I get some sweet malt and some soap.
T - It is sweet. I get some grain and a hint of alcohol. It tastes like sweetened Bud Light.
M - Thin

This is simply terrible....or rather 'terrbul'.
The only nice thing I can say about this beer is that the blue bottle is very pretty.
The foam looks bad. The mouth feel is unpleasant. It honestly smells like urine to me....urine from a chronic drunk.
AB is such a shit company. If you're a typical DUHguy, then you'll probably like this.
If not, go get a nice stout.

Hmmm... another variation of Bud Light. AB seems to keep on churning out different variations of their light beer products (Bud Select, Select 55, Bud Light Lime, Light Wheat, etc.). I guess it is profitable for them, but it seems like market saturation to me. I heard Bud Light Platinum described as a "sweeter tasting Bud Light with a higher alcohol content." That pretty much sums this one up. The blue bottle is pretty eye catching though.
Platinum pours a pale gold color, and a fingers worth of foam forms but disappears in under 30 seconds. The aroma is mostly musty, with a light sweet grain smell underneath. The mouthfeel is thin and fizzy, no surprise there. There is some noticeable sweetness with the first sip, with some hints of green apple present. A light taste of alcohol is also noticeable. The dryness in the finish is very light, and the flavor of the beer is nearly neutral. Some of the green apple and light grains linger on in the aftertaste, but that too is a bit too clean. Even with the increased ABV, I did not experience any alcoholic warmth in this beer.
I'm surprised that this is even considered a light beer. Sure it tastes like one, but its caloric content is only about 8 calories less than a regular Budweiser. Light in taste only, and more alcoholic than a standard American macro means that this is probably meant for beer pong or something of that nature. A decent thirst quencher? Maybe, but not really a decent beer.

I forget which tailgate, probably Wolfpack baseball, that I got to try this at, but nonetheless, as they say in the commercials, here we go. . .
Pours almost as light as Bud Light. A little more of the dark gold thing going for it. Big head that falls into oblivion. Smell, kind of one of those hybrid lager yeasts and shitty belgian kind of thing going on. The smell stood out here, and not in a good way.
Taste, fairly inoffensive, I think I can actually taste quite a bit of alcohol even though it is only 6%. Barely any hop presence, and that is even up against barely any malt presence.
Look, you know how this beer goes. Light everything, bigger alcohol. Tired of people making fun of you for drinking diet low alcohol beer? Now you're a big man, drinking 6% diet beer. oooh.

I was at a bar and just wanted to give it a shot since I heard mixed reviews about it. Some of my college friends (who don't know good beer) said it was good. The bartender said people who like AB products don't like it. I took 1 sip of it and 1 word came to mind. YUCK!! It tasted worse then bud light. I couldn't tell if there was flavor in the beer or it was just plain alcohol. If your going to have a light beer put less alcohol in it, not more.
