American Adjunct Lager |  4.60% ABV

Busch and Busch Light are both brewed with a blend of premium American-grown and imported hops and a combination of malt and corn to provide a pleasant balanced flavor. Additionally, Busch Light undergoes a longer brewing process that produces a lighter body and fewer calories.

341 mL bottle from TBS; listed at 4.7% and served ice cold. This is the Canadian version, brewed here by Labatt. For a while I thought I had already reviewed this, but apparently that was Busch Light. Might as well get this out of the way while it's fresh in my memory.

Pours a pale straw yellow colour, somewhere between apple juice from concentrate and dilute urine. Generates a half inch of fizzy, bone-white head that vanishes nearly instantaneously. Yep - it's a light beer alright. Very weak aroma; corn husk and a stale beer-y aroma that reminds me of my college days. I never drank this particular beer back then, but I sure had my share of comparable stuff.

The taste isn't exactly awful, but that's largely because it barely tastes like anything. Some weak adjunct sweetness comes through... and that's pretty much it. I guess an optimist might call it crisp, clean tasting? Well, optimists and marketing staff... as for myself, 'damp cardboard' seems more apt. Thin-bodied, very fizzy, and drinks like water. In all honesty, if you're going to pound a case of something, you could do worse.

Final Grade: 2.38, a regrettable D+. Busch is alright by light beer standards (a low bar, I grant you), but it's just too bland and watery to deserve credit as anything more than that. Sorry, it just doesn't taste like anything, and one of the things I look for in my beers is flavour - yes, even the adjunct lagers. If you don't like the taste of beer, then I guess you could consider switching from Bud/Coors Light to this and maybe save a few bucks. Easy to drink en masse, but there isn't a beer drinker alive who couldn't find something better, even for inebriative purposes.

A- Very pale yellow with a white head that dissapates fast. no lacing to speak of.

S- Faintly grainy and grassy.

T- Watery, but the grain comes through with some malt.

M- It is crisp and refreshing, but once again, watery. It feels like I'm drinking club soda. Very very light.

O- I gave it some style points, because let's face it, it's one of the cheapest beers available. No one is buying Busch because they are a beer connoisseur. It's light and refreshing on a hot day. You can take it fishing, you can enjoy it by the pool, you can enjoy more than one of them at a social event. Take it for what it is, don't hate it for what it isn't.

I really was not a big fan of this beer the first time I tried it. This was one of the first beers I ever tried. The taste was not one of a good beer with very little hops. While it may not have much taste, it seems to have a little higher alcohol content thanother beers. I know this is a cheap beer, but the mouthfeel wasn't even that good.

Pours a very light yellow with a white head that doesn't stay around long.

Smell is malt , corn, hay, popcorn.

Taste, what taste? Very bland, maybe the slightest hint of corn, and not much else.

Feels like carbonated water.

Can you say bland and tasteless? Beers like this make me appreciate the good beers all the more, this has very little taste, and what taste it does have, is nothing to write home about. No wonder craft beers are so popular.

Anheuser Busch : Busch Beer

APPEARANCE: Pale straw yellow , perfectly clear ultra filtered beer. Minimal head on what otherwise looks like a macro lager.

SMELL: A handful of dirty pennies with metallic aromas and perhaps some sweet cereal grains.

TASTE: Cereal grains and generic malt flavor upfront with a loose crispness. There is a flash of leafy processed hops and tame bitterness. Finishes with a slight tang.

FEEL: Light bodied, higher carbonation, only slightly watery.

OVERALL: Generic lager from the mega conglomerate. Still, it is ok for what it is. You could do worse.

Poured this Adjunct Lager from a 12 oz bottle into a pint glass. Poured a clear straw color and produced a decent head, poor retention and left no lacing on the glass. The aroma of this brew is somewhat skunky, fermented grain? Light in body, this lager has a very watery and thin mouthfeel- Sweet cooked corn, some slight hop flavor and mild bitterness. Overall, not a very good beer, even for the standard of American Adjunct Lager.

Had a summer cookout so I got a 18pk of this for $10, was a good deal in my book.

A: This beer pours a very light straw color with a slight golden tint to it. Kinda looks like piss haha! Had a 1-inch foamy head which dissipated quickly into nothing, and no lacing.

S: Get some sweet malts along with some corn or rice. Also get some grains, but no skunky or metallic aroma since this is from a bottle.

T: Sweet corn and malts at the top, get a slight grainy flavor towards the end. Not much else here!

M: Crisp and refreshing if cold, comes across grainy and watery. Lots of carbonation give this beer its adjunct sweetness. Easy to drink and after the first couple, it gets even easier.

O: For a Macro, its not bad. I personally like High Life, but I would put this a slight notch above that. I havent had regular Bud in a while so hard to say if its better than that. But good for cookouts and enjoying after working in the yard or something.

Poured from the new/old labeled bottle into pint glass. Looks like water. I have never poured a beer this light. Good lord. Tons of carbonation. Small head that falls fast. Smells like...carbonated water. I honestly don't think they put any barley or hops in this one. Just rice and water. Maybe a hint of yeast. Tastes like...water flavored with corn. Very carbonated. Extremely thin and light just like the color shows. This isn't god awful, but this isn't anything to go out of my way for here. Maybe wouldn't mind having this on a hot summer day mowing the lawn, but I could find something better for the occasion. Best thing about this beer is the price tag, 4.99 a sixer.

I bought a 6 pack and drank them over a few days to get a better feel for the product. All the bottles had a "Born On" date of January 4, 2012. I drank them from a pint glass.

Appearance: Pale straw yellow with a finger of foam that went away after about 2 minutes leaving minimum lacing. Some carbonation was visible for a few minutes.

Smell: All that I detected was a faint aroma of malt.

Taste: There was very little in taste. A hint of hops but no bitterness.

Feel: Thin and watery with a slight carbonation feel on the tongue. Dry finish.

Overall: I think this beer is typical of the style coming from a macro brewery. A lot is sacrificed by using the less expensive ingredients. Were I tasting this blind I would think that this is a light beer.

I just saw this "beer" at $7.50 for a 20 pack in Allenstown,NH. I bought the Brooklyn Lager for $8.99 a six pack. There must be a minimum qualification for a drink that is considered beer. Busch by any stretch of the imagination certainly does not qualify.

A: Pours a clear straw yellow with a thin layer of fizzy white mousse that dies away within seconds.

S: Not much to speak of here. A little bit of corn and dextrin, perhaps some very light biscuit-like malt notes. I'm not picking up on any hops whatsoever. As the beer warms an unpleasant cooked vegetable and grain husk aroma emerges. Not appealing in the least.

T: Not a lot to talk about. Notes of mineral water, grain husks, lemon, corn, corn, and uh, more corn. Corn water is what this is.

M: Feels thin and a touch oily in the mouth. So light-bodied that it is insusbtanial.

O: I don't want to rag on this beer for simply being a style that I generally try to avoid, but I agree with Jason here. This really is crap beer that is good to have once in a while just to remind yourself that there are better beers out there.

Poured this beer into my snifter.

The beer was a pale yellow color with an unstable head that soon feel back into the glass.

The beer was lightly carbonated and very few bubbles rose to the surface.

The beer smelled mostly of adjunct corn with a little DMS.

The beer had little taste, no hop flavor at all, and was very watery.

Overall this was not a very good beer and I would not want to have another.

Clean and smooth. Good beer for the price. Cold is key, cold is key. Bought at Meijer for 13.69 a 30 pack. I like this beer with pretzels and/or sardines. Yummy stuff for a basic beer. The hint of hops and barley were very evident and the carbonation was constant from first sip to last.

A-Oh that unmistakeable Macro look. Pale yellow, quickly diminishing head. Small, ugly traces of death on the along the glass.

S-Sweet and corny. Comparable to pretty much every other Macro. Busch Light is Busch, Busch is Busch Light.

T-More offensive than some other adjunct lagers. Do not let this beer warm. Imbibe as fast as possible. Thin tasting, sweet, a bit of grain.

M-Watery. Hard to call it mouthfeel when there is nothing much to feel.

D-Yes, I can drink this beer very easily when I am looking to get drunk for cheap.

I will take High Life, PBR, Gansett, and maybe even a few others before I go in on this beer. Heck I will even take Busch Light before this.

A real stinker. Can only drink when its really hot and I'm really thirsty. This beer reminds me of desperation and impoverishment.

A- Looks like my first pee of the morning.

S- Like funky cold cuts.

T- Like toasted sweet corn and straw.

M- Almost none. Kind of puckering.

D- Only when needy.

Decent beer isn't hard and can be cheap. This beer is an affront to sensibilities.

S- Faint corn, rice, and sweet malt. Funky hint of hops.

Poured stone cold from a 12 oz camoflague can (Perfect for those lonely hours up in a treestand) into a pilsner glass.

A- Pours very pale yellow and clear with a soapy head that diminishes into a thin film with a little lacing.

S-Faint sweet corn

T-What taste? sorry.
Start is smooth and corny with a mild carbonation.Middle suggests a bit of hops. Finish is a smooth field of Indiana sweetcorn stretching out to the horizon.

M-Watery but not unpleasant.

D-One of the rare cases when less taste is a plus.Smooth and drinkable if cold enough. Good bang for your buck if quantity is more important than quality.

Reviewed from notes.

Pours a moderate golden color and actually has a bit of head. Smells like spent grain and a bit of bread. Tastes like grain husks. Quite light. Mouthfeel is really like with quite a bit of excess carbonation. Drinks very poorly. Nothing to bring me back for more and I didn't enjoy the first few sips.

Another one of those filler beers for the drunken masses.
Pours a nasty looking piss yellow with a thin white head that does not stick around; no lacing.
Smells of booze and rice.
Tastes like watered down Budweiser with seltzer water, has decent carbonation.
Very, very thin mouthfeel.
Poor drinkability.

Honestly I don't hate this beer. It kinda has a dull carbonation taste to it but to be quite frank I like it more than Budweiser. It smells less than impressive, as do other domestic micros. The drinkability is where this beer becomes tolerable. We all know the Bud, BL, Coors, Keystone, etc is only "good" for drinking in large quantities, and this is a pretty good one compared to the others. What you see is what you get. To me this is like a middle ground between Bud and Bud Light. If you can tolerate that then you might enjoy this beer in a certain circumstance.

I'm not going to bother with a pour here. It was a $3.99 sixer whilst low on dough.

S: Funky skunky hops and cereal grain.

T: Extremely astringent; tasted like sour tea, must be tannins or something. Bubbly and boring, I think there was some corn adjunct in there too.

M: Wasser (water)

D: Ya, you can pound 'em, but why waste your liver.

I had this on bottle today while watching baseball. It was a bit of a taste-test exercise. I had a Pabst first (one of my favorite macros) and then a Busch second (an unknown to me). I preferred the Pabst (maybe because I was predisposed to have that opinion), but the Busch was surprisingly easy to drink with some flavor. Busch will not be a regular for me, but I will not pass up one if offered. Also, my friend gave $5.99 at the local grocery store for a 12 pack of bottles. Beer should not be judged on price alone, of course, but that seemed like a fair price for this brew.

Busch beer is a Beer made by Anheuser Busch. This beer is just an average American beer. The appearance is like every outer type of American beer. The small of the beer is beer. Taste is average and mouth feel is average. Drink ability is high good down smooth. Over all a good cheap beer for the summer.

It pours to a light straw color. It pours to about 1/2 in. head that hangs around for about 30-45 sec. It has a decent smell that to me smells like cereal with a hint of hops. Its taste is average but not very strong. I like the mouthfeel it is light in your mouth which is to me is odd beings that the beer is to carbonated. Its drinkability is really nice it goes down smooth and finishes clean. For the price it is a Great beer! Just got 6 pack of tall boys for like 3.99 on January 4 2012!
