A - super pale and golden with a couple fingers of fluffy head that quickly go away. Completely devoid of lacing.

S - mostly grass, a little bit of sweetness, and the signature Budweiser yeast.

T/M - corn and grain. Clean, crisp finish.

O - Pretty drinkable. I'm not sure why, but I really like the Budweiser yeast.

16 oz can poured into a mug that's been in my fridge at least 6 months. Only thing that was a lager in my fridge and I was having chili for lunch.

A: Light pale straw color with a nice fluffy head a lots of zesty activity. Realy actually very nice.

S: Really not to much here, metallic and grainy, some light light euro skunk

T: Light slightly metallic and corny, but not really that off-putting. It has almost none of the flavor profiles of a local or craft style beer, but at the same time there is nothing off putting at all

M: Refreshing, goes down well with my chili

O: This beer is not anything special and yes, it's corporate interests really do hurt the craft beer and smaller producers. But the beer isn't nearly as bad as other products of AB. That being said, I would likely never go out and purchase it on my own. But, it really isn't that bad.

as somebody who grew up drinking either craft beers or imports, ive always heard that this beer is gross, now i like to keep an open mind so i went out and bought a tall boy of the king of beers, budweiser!

i poured it into a glass and what i saw was pale yellow clear beer, nothing too exciting, just bland corn yellow.

i smelled it..no smell at all, it just smelled like beer. (which isnt a bad thing).

it tastes and feels like alcoholic fizzy water with maybe a hint of corn...why the hell is corn in beer?

i was amazed at the underwhelmingly blandness of this beer. i guess its only called beer because this product meets the legal definition of beer. this beer doesnt taste bad, its not offensive in anyway, its just flavorless beer based product. obviously there are millions of better beers out there, and there are worse beers; see michelob ultra. if i was at a party and they had bud id drink it. i wouldnt go out of my way to buy this though.

overall impression-meh.

Poured into a fluted pilsner glass.

The beer is a crystal clear light gold color. A white head recedes to a film. A few lines of lacing can be seen on the glass initially.

Aroma is faintly sweet with adjuncts and rice coming through.

Taste is sweet to start. Faintly metallic. Ingredients are subdued, rice and barley try to come out.

Mouthfeel is fairly clean, carbonated.

Overall, not an easy beer to review as I can't really taste many individual ingredients. It tastes carbonated, slightly sweet, and metallic.

The commonly-maligned working-class industry standard does not pretend it's a rich gent's beer. It's an adjunct rice-based brew designed for the everyman- a cold reward after a hot day on a roof or in the factories that dot St. Louis, MO and London, ON.

(Review is for Canadian version brewed in Creston, BC)

Appearance - Pale apple juice with vanishing carbonation and a medium pale head

Smell - Mass-market milk chocolate, rice wine, sour crabapples

Taste- Even. Grain and grass are apparent, but nothing stands out and kicks you in the tastebuds.

Mouthfeel - straight, easy-drinking, but no real 'chewy' qualities.

Overall- this is often seen after work and on blistering weekends, provided by my friends looking to swallow a few back over conversation, barbecue, or fishing. I had mine today with an old pal's chatter and a Reuben sandwich. This is a daily style that deserves to be respected for what it is and for the intent of the brewery. It's well-made by people who care about what they are doing and meets it's mission as one of the great mass-market drinkers. It smells okay, goes down smooth, leaves little aftertaste, and lets you get on with the rest of your day.

Poured from a can into a dimpled beer mug.

6th beer in my great American Adjunct lager hunt.

A-the pale yellow classic straw color. Poured a soda water type head that dissipted quickly into a thin white rings around the edges. No lacing. A lot of carbonation was present in the glass.

S-Grainy, a little malt and metallic.

T-Rice, corn, a little malt. Just the basic adjuncts, nothing special.Dry aftertaste.

M-Watery, crisp, and somewhat refreshing.

Overall, this brew gets terrible ratings, which is too bad because it is a classic. So I'll give it mediocre ratings. It has its same flat tastes from a bottle, on-tap, and from a can. When I am in the mood for a cheap crisp beer that tastes like soda water and rice, I'll buy it.

this beer has an undue bad name. all their other products are garbage, from shock top to black crown, to bud light and on and on, but, this particular brew, the original, ive always preferred to its competitors, and it does have a useful part to play I think. it pours a yellow straw colored watery soda fizz mess with an average white head. the nose is a lot like the can, even when its from a bottle or on tap. an odd metallic smell, but there is some grain in here, and I can get hops if I focus on it. the flavor has a refreshing mellowness to it, and while this may be all cut up with corn and rice and whatever else, it does retain some nice malt flavors, light as they are, and the hopping is crisp. I mean, im never going to go out and buy this, but in a tiny foreign airport, a concert at some beer wasteland, or a ballpark with no better options, I actually really enjoy a Budweiser. it is also the first beer I ever legally bought in the united states when I was 21 returning from overseas, so it has some sentimental function as well. to me its the classic American working mans beer, nothing special, but far from repulsive too. say what you will about it, but it aint half as bad as a miller or coors, although black crown is unforgivable.

24oz can into pint glass.

A - Clear pale straw yellow with a massive fizzy white head that quickly dissipates.

S - Very subtle aroma. Grass, bready grains, sweet corn.

T - Corn, rice and lightly toasted grains. A light sweetness prevails throughout, with no bitterness present. A hint of grassy hops. Finishes watery with a lingering metallic breadiness.

M - Crisp and smooth. Extremely light bodied, watery with high carbonation.

O - This beer is easy to drink and overall inoffensive. Unfortunately, there's not much here in terms of taste or flavor, and it only gets worse as it warms - eerily similar to a cheap, carbonated soda.

Buuuhhh.... What to say about Budweiser that hasn't been said already? Had on tap, bottle, can - take your pick. The beer is a pale straw color, slightly golden with remarkable clarity (hey, at least it has something going for it). Fizzy white head disappears so quickly that you can't even really call it a head. The aroma is almost non-existent - metallic hints, corns, grains, sulfur, maybe some leafiness but nothing that really resembles a hop. Taste is basically the same - corns, pale malts, and some graininess. No really hop flavor or even bitterness for that matter. Astringency and over-carbonation are king of the hill here. Thin, thin body with a super-dry, super crispy finish. Aftertaste has a thin, grain flavor but not much else.

Budweiser is slightly better than Bud Light. But really, what is that saying? I remember after years of drinking Bud Light, I finally had a Budweiser and thought it had so much flavor. Heh, how the times have changed.

Poured from 12oz can into a pint class.

A: Golden yellow, clear enough to see through. head vanished quick.

S: grassy, stale aroma. Hints of corn/malt

T: Light, grassy, watery. Smooth with a small hint of rice to finish

M: little carbonation, refreshing and crisp if kept cold

Overall- First beer I had ever tried when i was just seven years old. During a family card game my Dad let me take a sip. At the time it tasted of metallic soda. Now i find it to be very easy to drink, even in mass amounts. Not a bad choice for a cheap party beer, it has a higher abv than most in the same criteria. Although i find "King of Beers"False advertising at its finest.

Cheers!

Budweiser pours a clear golden color with a moderate, white creamy head on top. The foam fades away quickly leaving behind a few spots and lines of lace on the glass. Rising from the bottom is a flurry of tiny bubbles. For a lot of people this is the image they have in their head when they think of a beer.

The aroma is light with notes of corn, light cereal and pale malt.

This light bodied beer is watery on the palate with moderate carbonation. The flavor is sweet with a touch of bitterness. Cereal and corn are followed by a touch of grass at the end. Once gone the corn flavor lingers on the palate. There's not a lot of flavor to this beer, but what is there is bland.

I hardly ever drink Bud. This can came from a party I was at recently and got me thinking that I never reviewed it on BA, so I brought one home.

The only time a bud is good, is when you are feeling a little cheap or short on cash. Not the best tasting American Loggers out there, but it serves its purpose if you only want to get drunk and don't care about a good drinking experience. Some times the first one could taste satisfying after a long day of work. Then it begins to taste syrupy and pissy the more you drink. And if you do have too many, lets not forget about the bud-mud the next day. Injoy! ;)

Sometimes I like to throw on a wife beater and actually beat my wife. But only after I've drank Bud. The taste makes me so angry, it fuels the rage needed for domestic violence.

Harvested fresh from the bladders of Clydesdales, it has a piss-poor flavor that doesn't quit. I never enjoyed Budweiser, even when I managed to get my hands on a six pack when I was a teenager... And teenagers are usually happy to drink whatever they can get.

I don't understand when I see people walking out of CVS with 24 packs of this stuff. At least go with Miller or Coors if you're looking for cheap-s*it game day beer.

One of the "1001 Beers You Must Try Before You Die" -- #10 of the ones I've reviewed here.

Budweiser, of course, remains a very famous beer in America, even though I don't see nearly as many people drinking it nowadays as I did in the Seventies and Eighties, when I was a kid. Arguably time has passed it by.

It's an American adjunct lager, which is a terrible style and one that's particularly hard to review, since even at it's "best" (Pabst) it doesn't taste like much. This shares the same sensibility as most of them: pale yellow in the pour, with a fluffy head that quickly vanishes; light in mouthfeel and rather too gassy/effervescent IMHO; a very crisp finish, so much that it doesn't taste like much of anything at all.

That's Bud's big problem. It isn't exactly "bad" -- it doesn't have odd smells or odd tastes, it's pretty inoffensive in that way -- it just doesn't taste like much of anything at all. At least when cold: once it gets a little warm the weird, off-grain tastes, like a bowl of cereal slowly going bad -- start to come out.

If you must drink a beer in this mileau I'd stick to Pabst.

Made a very thin head that vanished after a few seconds. Pale yellow color.
Faint non barley cereals aroma.
Good carbonation and a light body.
Sweet taste of cereals with hints of refreshing hops. Though label says rice in the ingredients I can still feel an unpleasant corn addition. A bit dry and watery aftertaste.
Good drinkability until it gets warm, then usual adjunct lager off-flavor hits you with no mercy.

Taste - Sweet and grassy, with little finish. Skim milk. Almost tasteless.

Mouthfeel - Thin. Head like sea-foam.

Don't know why I'm even bothering to review this, but for reasons even unbeknownst to me, I am going to. Here we go.

A: Pours a crystal clear light yellow color with less than a fingers worth of quickly receding head that fizzles away to nothing within seconds. Certainly the average for the style

S: Some very light bready malts and a pleasant rice aroma are the only things to be found here. Again, very average for the style

T: Follows the nose, with a touch of sweetness from the malts and a light breadiness. Sweetness lingers for a bit and eventually dies off

M: Light bodied with high carbonation. Very prickly and bubbly

O: It is what it is. An AAL. For what it is, it's right around average and what you'd expect from the style. It definitely has it's spot in the beer world, but not much love amongst craft lovers. Kind of a shame

Appearance - Pours a crystal clear, bright yellow with a white, finger width head. Average retention. Sparse lacing with little stick.

Smell - Primarily a sweet malt aroma. Not much else.

Taste - Sweet and grainy, with a touch of bitterness near the finish. Light, simple and boring. Slight metallic twang in the aftertaste, then a light, lingering sweetness.

Mouthfeel - Watery thin with average carbonation. Finishes fairly dry.

Overall - The "King of Beers" is nothing more than a bland, comparatively flavorless brew, even amongst other adjuncts. Nothing too off-putting in the flavor, but there's not much flavor to begin with. Give me a Red Stripe, Tsingtao or Pacifico any day over a Bud.

This is MY Beer. It's the best I've found for a "normal" beer. we all have to have a stand by that no matter where in the country we are standing any bar or C store is going to have it and this is mine. Let's face it none of us are going to be drinking $12 6 packs all the time.

I prefer Bud in the can I like the smoothness of it I believe it's the rice used that gives it the consistantly smooth taste. It has a good mouthfeel for an AAL and you can buy it everywhere and it doesn't break the bank. a 5% it hits you well.

Look, when you're talking AAL you're talking mass produced, low quality cheap Swill. at this point it comes down to finding one to suit your taste. Bud is it for me.

Note: I review for the style. I refuse to let my prejudices slant any review. Nothing worse than the typical beer snob reviewing an AAL, same for your AAL drinker reviewing a craft brew.

Come on, people. I'm going 5 across the board on principle. Yes, I realize where I am and what the purpose of this site it. And I understand giving Bud a solid 5 is like citing Wins as an important stat on a sabermetrics site.

I don't care.

Give me a cold Bud any time, any place. I can finish off a night of craft beer with a Bud just as easily as starting a night of degradation with it.

It's like an old troublemaker friend who stood up for you when you were young that you keep lending a few bucks to as you grow older.

Pound for pound it may be my favorite beer.

Poured from the can into a pint glass.

A - Pours a light amber-yellow color, white head, some lacing that lasts a decent amount of time. Pretty standard.

S - Some hops and malt balanced (it's known for balance, after all), Earthiness.

T - Some corn, sugar, grain/wheat, alcohol. Balanced in taste as you drink it and doesn't really evolve.

M - Pretty carbonated, and has a crispness along with Earthiness that I actually consider unique to this particular beer. One of its strong points.

O - Budweiser. It is what it is, and that ain't bad. I'll never refuse one.

10 oz. can poured into a beer mug - this doesn't deserve one of my better glasses.

A: Pours a light straw color typical of a macro lager. The head is a two finger white color. I'm actually somewhat impressed that the head hasn't faded away to nothing in record time, but that just means retention is poor, rather than hilariously lousy.

S: Rice-y, grainy, and kind of sweet, though perhaps not quite as nastily so as others in the style. Still nothing you need to make a conscientious effort to smell, though.

T: Again, it's not quite as nastily sweet and corny as others. If anything the rice (instead of corn) makes it less offensive and more flavorless. The lack of flavor means its pretty easy to drink, but then again, like sex in a canoe, and all that jazz.

M: The general feel is almost good, truth be told. Unlike a lot of bad macro lagers (looking at you, Miller Lite), this isn't oppressively carbonated, rather it's just fairly strong. It actually has the same level of carbonation that Parabola does! Goes down like water, then again, it may well be sweetened water.

O: I half expected this to taste like infected monkey anus with a side of pus (in other words, like BL Platinum), but it manages to be merely bad. If it's offered to me freely at a party, without anything else there worthwhile, I'll drink it with zero complaints. Still, it'll never be my cheap beer fix, especially when Yuengling's lager is slightly less expensive - and far superior in quality.

Alright, time for my 3rd King Can review and its the classic Budweiser, the self-proclaimed king of beers. This king can is a special summer edition with the American stars and stripes with the traditional red, white, and blue.

A: This beer pours a very light, golden straw color with a 2 inch soapy, bright white head that quickly dissipates. Does leave some decent lacing.

S: I get a corn and grain aroma with a slight hint of malt, but nothing complex though.

T: Taste is a lot like the smell with a combination of corn and rice, with that slightly bitter, wet grain to it. Does have some malts which is noticeable and finishes with a little bit of a dry yeast.

M: The beer is light bodied, smooth and crisp that makes it quite drinkable on a hot day. But like all other adjunct lagers, once this beer warms up it falls apart.

O: This is one of those beers that you either like it or you dont. I tend to enjoy this a little better than bud lite, but I rarely drink either. Just needed an excuse to use my king can mug again.

Budweiser seems to be the Nickelback of beers - universally hated by the critics, but still insanely popular. Me, I've always enjoyed it for what it is - a smooth drinking beer that's great after a hard day.

Appearance: Pale (and I mean very pale) yellow, minimal head.

Smell: Nothing especially noticeable actually. Hint of sour grain much like Tusker, but less noticeable. Mostly just a slight metallic grain scent.

Mouthfeel/Taste: Very carbonated, like a pop. Clean flavor with a hint of pleasant sweetness (this sweetness comes out more when it's in the bottle). I like it for what it is.

Overall: Like I said, I enjoy it. Call me crazy, but for what it is, it's a pleasant drinking beer. Much better than some of the garbage out there in the more budget priced sections. For an affordable, everyday beer, it's the one I go for.
