The beer pours a nice dark amber/red color with a thick frothy offwhite head that slowly fades to lacing. The aroma is average. It has a dry, malty scent that boasts primarily of pale and crystal malts. The hop aroma is limited as is the malt complexity. The taste is average as well. It has a dry caramel flavor that goes down with some prickly carbonation and finishes with a metallic feel. There is a moderate hop bitterness to it. The mouthfeel is decent. It is a medium bodied beer with good carbonation. This is a run of the mill Irish red. It's nothing to speak of really and I'm not convinced it's a true representation of the style as the bottle suggests.
