The beer poured into my official Wilkes University beer glass very dark. This pleased me greatly, as I've been in the mood for a dark beer. It had an average head.

Smell: Smells like a porter (if one can say that). Smells like all of the other porters I've had in the past. Bitter smell.

Taste: Not an overly strong taste. If I had to pick anything out, I would say it has a slight bitter taste, but nothing very strong. I'm very disappointed. I tend to like strong tasting beers (me + IPA = match made in heaven), and this disappoints me.

Mouthfeel: feels like a beer. I'm not experienced enough to distinguish beers due to feel in my mouth. BUt besides that, it feels like beer in my mouth. No overpowering carbonation, or anything like that.

Drinkability: yes.

This is from some old beer notes I found while getting ready for a move.

Appearance: It is light shade of brown with a very small amount of tan head and lace.

Smell: It has a toasted malt smell that is very faint.

Taste: It is mildly chocolate bitter sweet. There is a thinness that in the mouthfeel that I think affects the taste. It has a watery roasted malt character.

Mouthfeel: Thin for this style I would go as far to say on the thinner side of medium.

Overall: An average beer that is a poor example of this style.
