During even the coldest of weather, warm up to the smooth, robust taste of our Winter's Bourbon Cask Ale. Full of rich aromas that you find in the winter months, hints of vanilla and flavorful hops, this is a beer that is great for pouring into a large tulip glass and enjoying with friends around a fireplace.

Got this at a bar in Scottsdale, AZ not realizing it was an AB product.
Appearance: Somewhat cola looking in appearance, little in the way of head or lacing but since it was on tap, the pour often has a lot to do with that.
Smell: Lots of vanilla, slight booze and caramel.
Taste: Again, overwhelming vanilla. Too much - it's hard to cut through and find anything else. Once you do, there's some toffee. Not really and wood or oak. Any bourbon character is flavor, not alcohol heat. None of the spiciness typical in winter warmers...
Mouthfeel: A little thin, maybe. I expect this much vanilla in a milkshake, not a beer. A tad slick.
Drinkability: On the lower side, unfortunately. Just too much vanilla, not subtle in the least.

If you didn't like it, that means you haven't tried it by the bucket with Buffalo wings and shepherd's pie! Doubt you'll find it anymore but a very close match is Frosted Sugar Cookie Imperial Ale by Southern Tier!

By far the best "winter" beer I've ever had. Hints of vanilla and bourbon, and very smooth and flavorful

I thought this was a great tasting beer. I've been searching for it. Guess I can stop the search.
