had this on tap last year, it was much better. as for AB's craft brew ventures, burnin' helles takes the cake over all the others.

A- orange copper amber brew with initially a typical AB 1in white head that morphs into fluffy rocky and off-white for a minute then settles to a soapy ring with moderate lace. nice show. lots of bubbles rise from the bottom of my holiday mug.

S- mild pumpkin pie aroma with dominant cinnamon followed by nutmeg & clove somewhere in the distance. buttery sweet malt, grains, white toast, dry leaves.

T- water first and foremost, then comes a diluted pale malt with a flavor more like cassia bark than true cinnamon. the taste is very much like canned pumpkin pie filling mixed with michelob. it still has that AB rice aftertaste although the package claims it to be an all malt beer. not much else going on.

MF- the usual macro feel but slightly more cloying. high carbonation with refreshing potential.

D- mild in flavor moderate in alcohol, but the little spice that's there just seems weird. i suppose it would be easy to pound this watery six-er. or i can save it for thanksgiving and share it with my family. yeah i think i'll opt for that.

*note: after it warms up a bit, jack's takes on the taste and aroma of a mild spiced apple cider.
