Brewed with two-row and roasted caramel malt for a rich color, and a blend of hand-selected premium American and Bavarian hops for balance and flavor. Friend and I went to a bar and he bought me this because its the "best"
Came in a mug... so cold...
Didn't look bad at least pale yellow through the frosted glass and a fizzy head that may have stayed because it was too cold.
Couldnt smell much, cooked grain mostly, very weak.
Tasted very watery, cooked grain again, weakest bit of bitterness ever.
Crisp, very light, refreshing in the sense that cold water is on a hot day not much like a refreshing beer.
Overall, perhaps in not giving this beer a fair shake based on how cold it was and my predisposition towards macros but still, it's bland, thin and not tasty. Though I might have a worse opinion if it was served at room temp, I'll take a Boston lager over this every minute of everyday over this....

I really wasn't able to come up with anything special about this beer. To me in still just Budweiser in a different bottle. So with that being said this beer is yellow in color, malts and corn aromas on the nose, the head fades quickly. The mouthfeel is pretty light. The best thing about this beer is the design on the label. That's about it.

Light straw color. Some head which maintains itself for about ten minutes or so.
Clean smell of mild grain and some grits.
Leafy, spinach-like hop. Corn adjuncts. Just the faintest hint of malts.
Light as water. Highly carbonated. Crisp finish.
For a light beer, its ok. Not much flavor or body. Nothing special.

Enjoyed in a pint glass at the Corner Pub in Ellisville, MO. I had a stage of buying 30-packs of this beer in Fall 2009 non-stop.
Appearance- Crystal clear with great carbonation and Golden Yellow color
Smell- Only the grains and corn are evident.
Taste- Light malt with corn and grains like always. I enjoy this one more than Bud Light.
Mouthfeel- Not much to add... Light Bodied
Drinkability- Very easy to drink. Had two more after this first one and didn't think twice about pounding them. Will be drinking again for sure.

On-tap at The Flamingo Bar in St. Petersburg. I am sitting at the very same bar where Jack Kerouac had his last drink, also a place where Babe Ruth used to shoot pool in the offseason. Too bad they don't have any good or even decent beer.
A - Pale straw hue, check! Thin white head, check! Good lace, huh?
S - The best thing I could say is that is smells quite clean in a filthy smoky bar. I guess there is a method to ABs madness.
T - It is fairly dry and perhaps less cheap tasting than other Bud products. Very watery and very slightly flavored, bordering on flavorless.
M - BMC. Thin. Not as wimpy as many BMC.
D - To be honest, it reminds me of a retired A-B offering: Bud Dry. In fact, all that comes to mind, relative to this beer, is: "Why ask why? Try Bud Dry."

Well, as some people on here have said, I hate Bud Light. I think it has a sharp, unpleasant taste that continues to astonish me as to how people drink it so often. Budweiser is decent but far from the top. That being said, Bud Select is a pretty decent brew that I have no trouble drinking. Of course, 2.25 for a 25 oz mug here at a bar in Plantation, FL (Landlubber's Raw Bar for all you Broward folks who may read this) helps , but regardless it is something I'm having an easier time tolerating than I was expecting. The foamy head is actually pretty impressive, although it's a 25 ouncer not a pint but still. The taste is a tolerable mix of corn, hops and carbonation but not an overpowering sharpness that I get from Bud Light. It seems to me that Bud Select is very unappreciated among the beer buyers because although this isn't top of the line, it certainly beats out BL and honestly I'd rather have this than Budweiser also.

On tap, poured into a glass stein.
Pours a very clear light golden color with almost no head at all. Nose is super light with a very light hoppiness.
Taste is a bit richer than bud heavy with a decent malt backbone for an adjunct lager. Very little hoppiness it's not great but pretty easy to drink when cold.

I have had this beer in the past, before I was really into craft beer, and thought it was decent. For what it is, it is a decent beer. It has good flavor for a light lager and it is highly drinkable in the sense you could easily have many of these. Compared to something like a Goose Island IPA it is watery. I know its easy to bash the big boys but I rated this beer as to how it compares to others in its category and by that standard its a winner. Will I seek this beer out? No. I was at a festival this weekends and this was one of the three beers they had. The lesser of the three evils.

Pours a pale golden color with no head. Smells faintly of straw and mainly corn. Tastes the same way. Its highly carbonated and has a very dry finish. It drinks easy so if you wanted something inoffensive and to slam back 8 of this would be an ok choice, but all in all its boring.

Served on tap in a pint.
The intial appearance of this beer is a pale straw color. You can see right through it (perfect in a table tap if you want to see your company on the otherside). There was a thin half inch white head on the top of the glass.
The beer had a faint smell to it, the usual cereal, grainy aroma of macrobrews.
The taste was unimpressive, yet it faired better than I initially expected. Even when cutting carbs it retained some flavor to Bud light (kind of makes that one obsolete if you have a choice between the big three).
The beer was heavily carbonated, and similar to water. That being said it was easy enough to put down a couple of them in quick succession while eating wings.
Final Thoughts - What is there to really say? We know what it is, a low carb macro brew. It contains minimal calories and taste. That being said it goes down easy enough for drinking games and whatever else. Little other redeeming qualites (used to be $1, but now sits at $1.50 a pint. Always a winning feature in my book).

Bud Select - 9/16/2008
Poured from a 1/2 barrel keg to mug - I bought the keg for a FLA/GA party at our house 11/1/2008.
ABV 4.3%, cals=99
A 3.0
Golden yellow, decent head - lasted longer than from bottle, noticeable carbonation - a bit more than what I have seen from a bottle pour.
S 2.5
Typical American macro smell, not to much to mention here
T 3.5
Typical American macro, generally speaking neutral and harmless for beer newbies
MF 2.5 watery as expected, light on carbonation in the mouth considering how prevalent it is on the pour, could be the keg temp?
D 3.5
Not bad for a Am macro session beer, which is why I got the keg - for my guests. (I was drinking my Pale Ale home brew!) ABV is a little light for my preference to buy on my own. I would prefer a bottle over the can any day. Better than Bud Light and most light beers in my opinion.

Served on tap poured into a pint glass.
A- Yellow/orange coloring. Very transparent. Some head, but not much.
S- A little bit of hops noticeable as well as the scent of alcohol, but that much smell to it.
T- I prefer the taste of this to Bud Light. I think this is a little sweeter than Bud Light, but it still seems watered down. I guess it is what you would expect from this kind of beer.
M- Goes down smoothly, not much taste or bitterness.
D- Definitely drinkable in large quantities. Goes down easily.

I knocked back a few of these at a restaurant the other night because all they had on tap was Miller and Bud products.
Appearance: Poured slightly darker than a Budweiser, but I could only tell when I held it right next to a Bud. Had no head but that's no doubt the bartender's fault.
Smell: It had a grainy and metallic smell. It didn't smell bad but their was nothing incredibly positive about it either.
Taste: The big difference for me between this and Bud is that Bud Select has a smoother taste and is easier to drink.

What can you say, it's a Budweiser product. It's brewed in MASS quanity with a great sacrifice to quality.
It pours a light-medium, clear gold with a small amount of head. Like all Budweisers, it has a watered down taste and body. It has a small wheat taste that can only be described as the Bud taste, very unsifisticated.

Poured a pale yellow with absolutely no head. Can't smell anything, and since this is in the Bud Family, I'm not surprised. The rice doesn't little for the malt flavor - there's already very little - and there isn't any hops flavor.
I was supposed to "Expect Everything" from Select, but got absolutely nothing from it. I'd like my money back.

Had this at a neighborhood festival. The other option was Bud Light.
Color was a very pale yellow with neither a head nor lacing.
Smell was like your average macro which is almost none.
Taste was like heavily watering down a beer and adding sugar to it.
Light, watery, anf fizzy.
To me, Bud Select tastes no different than any other A-B product.I guess it'll work if the beer is very cold and the day is very hot.

Appearance: It arrived a clear yellow to golden color with a foamy one finger head. Virtually no retention or lacing.
Smell: It mostly corn and grains. Smell is nearly non-existent though. Very difficult to pick up much of anything.
Taste: No surprises. Mostly a watered down earth taste with some corn flavors thrown in. There is a hint of hops in there, but it's far from impressive.
Mouthfeel/Drinkability: It's light bodied. Easy enough to drink. Bad taste really spoils the drinkability though. Overall, it's not good. I think it's a step above Bud Light. But, I wouldn't recommend it.

Brought to me in a pint glass. This beer had the apperance of urine if you were dehydrated. Very little head, but hints of retention, its only redeeming quality. The taste was as advertised... "clean" yes so clean that it's hardly there. The mouthfeel was very weak, incredibly watery with a slight burn of carbonation on the finish. Never again.

Fizzy with a little thin cap. Cleat light hay yellow. Spotty lacing.
Almost no smell at all, can't pick anything up but maybe a little bit of adjuncts.
Strong adjunct taste that quickly goes away. Maybe the slightest hop presence, or maybe it's just more adjuncts. Super thin, high carbonation. The finish is very clean with mostly fading grain.
Pretty much your standard Macro Lager. I don't think this is any better than a regular Budweiser. Marketing.

Your average beer. I got this at Prime Time Sports Grill and there was nothing really that select about it. I thought it was very average, very very average. There wasn't any head, if any at all. There was no lace at all. I've struggled to lable the macro smell, and I haven't come up with anything yet, but that's what it smelled like, a macro. The taste was the same, macro. It was a decent beer. It's main saving grace was that it didn't give me a splitting headache like bud light. Don't drink and review.

Fills the glass with an extremely pale crystal clear yellow and moderate white head that disappears far too quickly.
Aroma is sort of sweet and orange citrus. Extra hops seem present in this brew.
Ice cold taste was immediately refreshing...cooling (It's 100 degrees at the ball park tonight)...bright, bright citrus and lots of tiny carbonation to create a dry finish.
Ohhh, oh...
Don't know what happened...beer warmed...mouth woke up...I don't know, but now half way through the glass and this has become very disappointing. Watery....thin mouthfeel....very little flavor. What happened to the hops I definately saw in the beginning.?
I no longer find this drinkable. Sad...I was really enjoying the first couple of sips as something unusual and unique.

"Crisp" "No aftertaste" Hey- They set low goals and attain them!
This is the first On-Tap review of Select I see.
A bright gold color that the bartender insisted was darker than regular Bud. (I can't discern such minute differences). This acually had a white head that was "whipped" in consistency.
Aroma? Forget about it! We fear aroma.
I am not sure what "Crisp" is but the taste is inoffensive, at best. Light rice that disappears in the finish. It is remarkable how much AB can take something like this and make it almost taste like beer.
This is drinkable for the masses. My hypothesis: This is Light beer for people who don't yet want to admit that they like or feel the need for low calorie products emblazoned with that word "LIGHT". A positioning against Miller Lite more than a beer that stands on any merit.

A: The beer is crystal clear light straw yellow in color and has a moderate amount of carbonation. It poured with a finger high bright white head that died down, leaving a thin layer of bubbles covering the surface and a collar around the edge of the glass.
S: Faint aromas of grainy malts are present in the nose along with some hints of grassy hops. The smell becomes a little stronger as the beer warms up.
T: The taste is similar to the smell and has flavors of grainy malts and corn adjuncts. It's not sweet, but no bitterness is perceptible.
M: It feels light-bodied, clean and somewhat watery on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer is easy to drink but doesn't offer much in terms of pleasant aromas or flavors.
Note: Canned on 3/13/13
