Presentation: 12 oz brown twist bottle, with a Born On Date on the label on the neck.
Appearance: Very dark brown colour with a short lived head.
Smell: Slight burnt aroma with hints of sweet molasses and a mildly astringent metallic-like grain.
Taste: Moderate body with an upfront crispness, rounded smoothness and a medium leveled carbonation. Mild roasted flavours with an eternal grainy flavour, hops are processed and for bittering balance. A growing astringency rides up the palate from the get go though some residual sweetness holds it off until the finish.
Notes: Pretty one-dimensional with some astringent flavours that are a bit of a nuisance. A bottled black and tan is a fallacy, a real black and tan should be poured gently so both beers are separate / layered not totally blended.

from notes, this one was brought up to the cabin by my father in law in a mixed 12 pack of michelob brews. served cold and me and my brother in law kicked these back on the deck on night.
pours a decent brown color with a small head of cocoa that seemed to hang just long enough for it to coat the glass just a touch before settling back to just a broken crown that barely coated the sides of the glass. aroma is mixed bag, lots of caramel and cocoa notes with a hint of earth hops, but it just seemed pushed together without any real balance to it. flavor is not as bad, but still kind of rushed together and not at all what i would want. creamy finish is sweet and very short lived.
overall not the best beer in the world, and dont think i would do it again.
