A good selection of beers among the eight taps plus some average bottles. Happy hour is 4-6 on M-F ($2 off). We found the tap offerings from $4.50 and $5.00:
New Holland Golden Cap Saison
Sly Fox Pale Ale
Heavy Seas Small Craft Warning
Avery New World Porter
Arcadia Whitsun
Chinookie IPA
Phila Walt Wit
Dos Equis Amber
Food is really quite good. A little pricey for Mexican, but more interesting than most. Taco plates offer every kind of meat from goat to tilapia, plus vegetable. Roast pork was the torta special, and the Mole del dia smothered a pair of pork chops. Three soups plus salads, sopes, octopus appetizer, fish, pork shoulder, and goat stew.
The sidewalk tables are pleasant on an interesting and not heavily trafficked street. Interior was amazingly dim, this seems to be a Philadelphia wieirdness (see also Boilermaker and Farmers). Candlelit men's room.
Just a half block from Standard Tap, but I'd head here for food. Not far south of the big Schmidt's Plaza development and the no. 15 streetcar on Girard. A short block to the ruins of the Ortlieb's brewery and an up and coming neighborhood and community garden.
