a good amber, more in the english style, and not nearly as good as their organic amber, but still solid. pours a nice rich brick red and caramel blend color with a 2 inch white head from the pitcher. smells like red malts, dusty and sweet, with some bittering hops. flavor is biscuity malts, not sweet at all really, but bready. fairly hoppy crispness on the back end. lots of flavor. feel is perfect for the bold flavors, plenty of carbonation and e fuller medium body that maintains its drinkability pint after pint. at 4% this is as close to an ideal session beer as there is out there, but i still dont think its as good as the organic amber. overall a good one to try, or to sit out back and hammer all day.

First had: on tap at Squatters, Salt Lake City Airport
An average amber ale offering. Hey, I was just delighted to see a brewpub waiting for me as soon as I got off the plane for my layover from Seattle.
Poured into an over-sized mug, a clear amber color with a moderate white cap of head that eventually receded to a thin collar. Aroma of sweet caramel malts and citrusy hops. Taste follows the smell, with smooth caramel malts up front, balanced by a modest infusion of subtly citrus hops. Medium mouthfeel, smooth, and non-threatening, make for an average, but drinkable, brew.

Enjoyed this beer at Squatters downtown Salt Lake City
A - very nice copper color - a small head retention with a little lacing
S - a slight malt smell with nice hop aroma
T - slight carmel malty taste with a little orange citrus hop zing to finish
M - crisp medium body beer
D - we would have no problem doing this as a session beer

On tap at the downtown SLC brewpub. From notes.
A: Pours a clear amber in the glass. Nice foamy head that retains moderately, lapsing into a thin film on top of the brew. Foam lacing down the sides.
S: Caramel, mild pine.
T: Caramel is strongest. A slight grapefruit kick in the mid-taste. Pine in the finish.
M: Medium bodied, good carbonation, a clean and almost crisp finish.
D: This was fairly decent and I wound up getting more of it later. Paired very well with the spicy dish I was having. But in the grand scheme of things, a pretty subpar brew.

A - Pours a cloudy golden amber color, not much carbonation, huge creamy head, nice lacing afterwards.
S - Scents of hops, malts, yeast, and citrus.
T - The taste is sweet and malty. Nice little bite at the end.
M - Medium body.
D - Drinkable. A very tasty brew. Highly recommended.

From the cask at the downtown Squatters pub this amber poured a clear root beer/coffee color with a thick light tan head and good lacing. The aroma was a solid floral and citrus hops, sweet like raspberries almost, very nice. The taste came on as mild citrus with a little skunkiness. Easy drinking, plenty bitter. Nice mellow feel. Cask beers often come up funny in flavor to me but this had potential that just fell a little short. Definitely worth a try but I enjoyed the Captain's Oatmeal Stout more on this night.

Appearance: Amber as advertised, with an attractive cream colored mousse with excellent lacing that looked like leopard spots.
Smell: I really enjoy the flowery aromas of cask ales, and this one didn't dissapoint. A little pine and a tad sweet.
Taste: Mild roasted sweetness/caramel with a pleasant hop finish, for a low ABV Beer it had plenty of character which made it very easy to drink. This was the best draft Beer I had in Salt Lake City.

Pours brownish amber with a thin white head that leaves some rings of lacing.
The smell is of aromatic Pac. NW hops - citric and piney. Quite powerful - some caramel in the back.
The taste is of sweet caramelish maltiness and bitter citric/pine hops intermingling, giving it a nice balance. It has a soft, tea-leaf bitterish finish.
The body is a bit thin, barely clinging to medium-bodied.
Easy-drinking, glad to have had it on cask!

This beer poured a golden amber color with no head. The nose blasts me with caramel sweetness but has a bit of hop underlying the malt. Smells nice. The flavor has a nice citrus hop to it along with the caramel malts to balance well. Its a touch light though. The feel is thin to moderate. Overall, its just okay. Nothing special. I'd take the Amber at Red Rock over this one.

On cask at the Pub Brewery.
Tall 500ml glass with a color edging to brown with a tall fluffy beige head.
Aroma is soft with chewy dark brown sugar tones mingling with flowery hops
Taste starts with a fruitness like apples and pears, but sweet before they've started to rust. Light roastiness starts to play with the hops both them remained entwined until the very end.

This amber ale has a huge sweet caramel aroma with a bit of spice. The hop flavor profile is floral and the malt flavors are not at all apparent in the taste. The overall impression of this brew is that of a heavy tea rather than a balanced ale.

The dense, creamy head leaves Belgian lace down the glass. Orange hazy hue. Mild earthy Willamette hop nose. Low carbonation from the cask conditioning. Moderate hop bitterness. A bit of toasted and bready malt flavors in flavor, but overall it's quite bland all around. This finish is of amber malt & just a touch of sweetness on the tip of the tongue. Not bad, but certainly not outstanding.
