There is nothing wrong with Wasatch Polygamy Porter. It's just a little boring. It's also a bit dry for my tastes, but some people like that.

A: Dark black color and a poor head that fades quickly. 3

S: Nice coffee aroma with, maybe, a little sweet malt. 4.5

T: Very dry and a little flavourless. Milky with some mineral flavours. 3

M: Milky with a low amount of carbonation. 3

O: 3.5

Poured 12oz bottle into a pint glass, small white head. Nose of the beer pretty good a little chocolate, little coffee, and little roastiness but they all complement each other nicely. First sip, something is missing. I get chocolate, coffee, and roasted malts but the beer is a little thin. I find myself wanting more. As i continue to sip i begin to enjoy the easy drinking nature of this porter and like i said the taste and smell do deliver. Looking at the bottle it clocks in at 4%abv so essentially a session porter. Overall i liked it, it may not compare to some of the big boys but i don't think its trying.

Appearance: Poured a clear, semi-dark ruby brown throughout with a whitish beige head that fell apart all too soon.

Smell: Rich chocolates, malts.

Taste: The beginning peaks rich and sweet; the middle calms down into the richness of the chocolate; the end fades into a soft coffee or mocha flavor that lingers on the taste buds until the next sip.

Mouthfeel: It was a bit light, but I think this one was wanting to go for that.

Overall: An interesting light porter with a pleasant taste and smell, but I'm fine with just one.
