Amber clear body. Light tight off-white caramel colored head. Good retention and lace.
Sweet Belgian aroma. Tart cherry and slight green apple. Spice and caramel as well.
Getting a lot of the sweet caramel malty body. More of a darker sweeter fruit possibly the honey coming through. Certain smokey flavor lingering around providing a bit of complexity.
Chewy beer, good velvety body. Like the flavors and fun idea. Nothing to set the world on fire, but I really enjoyed it. Very drinkable for 8%.

Served in a snifter at Firkin.
It took a good amount of self-control to not make a Chaka Khan joke whilst ordering this... Anyway, it pours a clear brass-amber topped by a finger of cream foam. The nose comprises banana, light vanilla bean, mild Belgian yeast, and mild toffee. The taste brings in more of the same, though the yeast-borne spices make a stronger impression, particularly clove and cinnamon. The body is a light medium, with a light moderate carbonation and a wet feel. Overall, a pretty nice little Belgian-style job. It's nothing special, but it's worth a return visit.

On Tap,
Never heard of it before but OB is always worth a try.
A – Quite dark for what I was expecting, medium-dark amber with orange hues. Had a thin head and left poor lacing, but I may chalk that up to a fault on the establishment's behalf.
S – The nose on this one was wild. Citrus fruits with some sweet malts and belgian yeast.
T – Quite sweet, citrus carries through. Develops into a moderately bitter beer as evidenced by the hops.
M – Medium/Heavy body. Carbonation echoes the same. Overall it is very sweet, cloyingly so.
O – Another big bruiser of a beer from OB. High ABV, and huge on the malts. Filling for what it is, however, a good one and done beer.

16oz can into a pint
A - Pours somewhere between an orange and a brown color. Orangish brown. Head formation is slightly off white, very strong and well retained.
S - Has a unique smell to it, I get a little bit of the belgian yeast - light amounts of bubble gum. THe malts are sweeter, little bit of nuttiness.
T - Starts off lightly sweet, just a hint of citrus and lots of barley. In the middle gets some bitterness (not much) and the tongue form of that nuttiness. Some hops sneak in there, light and noble. Finishes with the most noticeable belgian yeast contributions, the bubble gum like phenols. Aftertaste is very clean.
M - Moderate to heavy body, moderate carbonation. Comes off pretty thick - a little bit clingy and sweet at times.
O/D - A little bit filling due to what I imagine is a huge malt bill. Not at all abusive to the palette and the ABV is high but alright for a short session.

Pours a dark, muddied mahogany colour, with a yellowish coloured head. Left foamy lace. Smells somewhat musky, with a earthy, yeasty ester, dark fruits, with some spicy notes. On the taste, you get that spicy Belgian yeast notes, some mildly funky, musky notes, almost a grape skin, with some figs and dates-like fruity sweetness. The feel is kinda thick and somewhat syrupy for the style, but not bad feeling.
I'd call this more along the lines of a BSDA with a colour and the somewhat sweeter nature, but, what the hey. It's still a quite enjoyable Belgian-style ale.

Can obtained at the Tasty Weasel Tap Room prior to GABF.
Body is a transparent amber gold. An aggressive pour straight into the tulip glass produces just a half inch head. Dissipates quickly to a film and ring, but leaves lots of sticky lacing.
Smells of sweet caramel malt with some toffee, light coffee, raisin and citrus notes.
Tastes of caramel malt and citrus hops, with some raisin fruit, cola, and spice. Pretty sweet, but that is balanced somewhat by lightly bitter hops and spiciness. Woody and nutty with a light coffee taste and a note of anise. Those tastes and some of the sweetness might come from the hickory syrup addition. Moderately hoppy by American standards, quite hoppy by Belgian standards.
Body is light and the carbonation is moderate. Has a slightly creamy mouthfeel.
The first in the Oskar Blues--Sun King collaboration. At 8%, this is higher than the typical Belgian pale ale and is probably better classified as a Belgian strong pale ale. The combination of sweet maltiness and spiciness--even if most of that is coming from a hickory addition--helps this come off as a Belgian style ale, albeit an unconventional one.

Pours a cherry red with an off white head. A touch of yeast in the aroma with some sweet fruits of cherry and pear, and a little spice in the rear. Flavor was sweet and fruity with some cherry and pear, a nice usage of Belgian yeast that was somewhat mild but present, and a spicey/peppery finish. A fuller, creamy mouthfeel. Overall, a very nice beer. Been wanting to try this for a long time now and glad I finally got the chance to. It lived up to my expectations.

16oz can served cold at liquids and solids in Longmont.
Poured into a tulip, Chaka is a deep amber color with a slight haze. The head is thin but leaves nice lace behind.
Aroma is fruity, floral, and mildly funky.
Flavor is sweet and fruity up front but leads into a citrusy, floral hop bitterness. It finishes dry leading me into the next sip.
Mouthfeel is medium bodied and nicely carbonated.
Overall a very nice version of the style. I hope they make this a regular because it certainly would be in my fridge.
