Appearance: Coy. Pours with with a very nice above average head, the color is surprisingly mellow, a semi orange but majorly gold.

Smell: Intoxicating. Sensory overload, the smell punches you in the brain which triggers neurons that start firing knowing they are about to experience an intense IBU performance on the palette!

Taste: BOOM! Hop, I said Hop, singular not plural, I know right? Impossible I said, I had to check to OB website to verify this, Summit, one single hop wreaking havoc on your palette in an unimaginable way. WOW. Must try if you are a hopehead in search of palette destroying bitterness (yes I mean that in a good way!)

Mouthfeel: SHOCK AND AWE. That's right, this beer pulls it off better than the Bush administration could. Light and airy as it enters the mouth, but before your halfway through the sip SHOCK will it overwhelm? No. Perfect harmoniousness in an incredible NON balanced way, just the way a hophead would like it!

Overall: Phenominal. This beer will make the hair on the back of your neck stand up, as though some spiritual hop presence is in the room high-jacking your taste buds. But that's just the beauty of it, until you realize it is merely one and ONE hop only doing this to you, and then you realize, you are suddenly a student and Oskar Blues is teaching your palette: Less is More, don't overdue something that can be done simply! Must HAVE beer.

Poured from a 12oz. can into a snifter.

It's extremely drinkable, which almost de facto excludes it from being an imperial representation of the style depending on how stringent the criterion is.

Decent lacing, slightly off white head that didn't want to hang out, and beautiful pale orange in color.

Extremely well balanced with a mild hop aftertaste. Finish is CARAMEL, wow, I've never tasted it so concisely before.

Would have liked a little more hop in the aroma (and overall, as it's an imperial), but I did appreciate this take on an often over the top style.

Call me crazy... but first sip reminded me of Pliny.

I have drank a Dales Pale Ale and a Founders Centennial IPA previously in the evening, and this is holding it's taste on my palate quite well.

It has a smooth taste for an Imperial IPA, with crisp aftertaste.

I would rate its smell as the least impressive trait, not bad, just not defining.

A slightly malty aftertaste, that doesn't make you forget you're drinking an IPA.

Good stuff.. wish I could find it more often.
