A- straw gold with a touch of hazyness in it. Maybe some light wheat in here? Has a lasting one inch white head with moderate lacing. Looks a little heftier than your pops' premium lager from the 60's.
S- there is this kinda off uriny smell at first. Once you get past that, there's some good spicy hoppyness and subtle crackery grain aroma. Maybe a touch of lemon peel smell?
T- spicy, noble hops are big in this beer. They are pronounced and steal the show. As expected, there's some light buttered cracker flavor and perhaps some cereal grain. Not any alcohol. Pretty good for an Americanized pils.
M- a little fuller body than expected. Pretty heavy carbonation and a dry finish. Really nice mouthfeel. Not too thin but still can put a few away and not be stuffed.
O- this is one of my favorite american made lagers. While pilsners aren't exactly my preffered style, this one holds its own with good light grain and noble hop flavor and a moderately full finish.

Need I say the color is yellow, but this Pilsner sets itself apart with a thick nearly congealed head.
The scent is quite weak but a bready cereal malt aroma does exist.
There's a reason why Pilsners don't line the BA top 100, as their not very complex.
So this Lil thing needs to be taken for what it is, a very good version of a rather benign genre. Sweet malts, cereal grains and a bready dough flavor dominate a smooth drinkability. Nothing more nothing nothing less.

From a 12 oz can (dated May 17, 2013) into a pils pokal.
A-The brew is yellowish-gold in color and clear. There is a fair amount of chunky carbonation visible, but the head starts thin and drops immediately to an off-white collar. A random finger of lace is left behind.
S-The smell is strangely sweet for a pils with flavors of sweet corn and grain. There is a bit of grass, straw, and a sweet, doughy malt base. Not very refreshing or crisp smelling.
T-The taste also has a pretty significant sweet corn component. There is a mild hop bite here, as well, that provides a bit of floral kick, but this brew is not crisp or dry by any stretch of the imagination.
M-The feel is more weighty and soft than many pils. The carbonation is mild and heft is noticeable.
O-I went through a phase in which I downed a lot of Yella Pils, but now I am not sure why. Consumed cold (at 38 degrees from the fridge), this beer was still not very refreshing or crisp in the manner I would expect from a pils. It is just too sweet and heavy for the style, which hurts in the drinkability category. On the plus side, it does pack flavor...even if the flavors aren't that great.
