Had this out of the can tonight at dinner at Eddie's Place. Great local restaurant. Excellent Cajun food, and decent selection of bottles.
'Twas the color of straw. Reminded me of those rare occasions when I've cracked a can of Bud Light and poured it into my pint glass. This, being in a can, fit half of that bill. But I really expected more from an Oscar Blues beer. Then again, I figured that this straw color was probably a function of the Czech Pilsener style, so there were no real deductions for this.
The beer smelled....grainy. Not hoppy or malty, or flavorful at all. Merely grainy. Very similar to...um...a Bud Light. Honestly, after taking a whiff of this stuff, I really wasn't looking forward to consuming it.
The taste was LESS than I expected, and that's saying something. It tasted like a legitimate light beer. LEGITIMATE, yes, but LIGHT BEER, also yes. I feel like this would be my go-to beer for a case race with my buddies, not a solid craft brew that I'd be enjoying with my Chicken Jambalaya.
The beer was pretty watery, and highly carbonated. Both characteristics of a light beer. I really didn't expect this. I guess I should have done a little more research on this stuff to know what to expect.
Like I said, this stuff is case-race worthy. I'd call it the best light beer I'd ever had, if it was indeed intended as such. I could easily drink twelve of these and be good to take a final exam. So drinkability's its strong point. But unfortunately, that's about it.

Had on tap in a pint glass.
Pours a clear medium gold with a one finger white head.
Aroma of wet grass and hay with a little bit of corn thrown in. A nice noble hop aroma is pleasant but a bit weak.
Grass and corn flavor with more behind it than the aroma. A nice sharp hob bitterness along with a nice cris clean mouthfeel and quick finish.
Overall, a nice but pretty basic pils. Really doesn't quite stand up to the likes of Pilsner Urquell or Budvar in my opinion.

on tap at a bar in a shaker glass. decent white head that stayed for a couple minutes then dissipated as drinking commenced. not much aroma, not much in the way of hops on the nose. bready, malty up front. not so pleasant bitterness at the end. It's Ok, but there are much better examples.
