Bottle pour for New Brew Thursday's 3rd Anniversary event held at Beachwood BBQ & Brewing in Long Beach, CA.

Pours a clear copper with a foamy khaki head that settles to a small cap on top of the beer. Foamy rings of lace line the glass on the drink down. Smell is of malt, vanilla, bourbon, and wood. Taste is much the same with a woody and bourbon flavor on the finish. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a pretty good beer with a decent barrel aged presence.

Poured a chilled 22 oz bottle and watched a nut brown elixir stream into the glass.
Aroma of an atypical barleywine with some nice boozy burbon and woody gorgeousness to it.
Slight white head - almost none.
First mouthful gave a full bodied thickness and a slight sweetness which then turned to a somewhat boozyness followed by a moderate bitterness. This is like a cross between a barleywine and an IPA as there seems to be a fair amount of hoppiness. All in all, it is a very unique treat and definitely worth the purchase. In fact it's worth getting a few more bottles to cherish time and again with good friends.
Highly recommend this beer. You will not be disappointed.

On tap at toronado sd. Not to be confused with evil twin Freudian slip. Pours a blend of deep red and lighter amber, slightly translucent with a quickly disappating head but a foam ring remains around the glass, leaving lacing. Smells sweet, bourbon up front with that lovely toasted coconut and toffee aroma characteristic of ba barleywines. Taste has all that but with a hop bitterness and the present but pleasant boozy burn to accompany. Maybe a slight hint of piny hop flavor. Very bourbon forward and toasted coconutty, which Is exactly what I love in a ba barleywine. Toffee, caramel malt sweetness. Sweet, but the sweetness gets layered amongst the warm booziness and hop bitterness so as not to seem burdensome. I'm guessing 10-11% abv. Booziness Detracts from the drinkability a bit, but is not hash or solvent-like. My first beer from a brewery I know nothing about, and I am impressed.
