Served in a growler, drank within an hour of the fill. From notes from 5/18/12.

Poured into a standard pint glass. Appears a nice straw color. Very cloudy with little transparency. Has a good amount of head, which has some decent staying power, and leaves a little bit of lacing. Looks great.

Nose is your typical hefeweizen, with good amounts of yeast, banana, clove, and the right level of sweetness. Taste is very similar, and there's nothing out of the ordinary here. That being said, the levels of each flavor work together very well. Again, the banana and clove are very present, with a little spiciness as well.

Mouthfeel is light bodied, with the right levels of carbonation. Nothing out of the ordinary here, just what you would expect. Overall, this is a nice, refreshing beer. After reviewing it, paired the remaining beer with some local pizza, and it went together great. Something I'll definitely pick up again, and look forward to trying other options from Zauber.

Poured from a growler filled at Zauber today?

A - pours a very pale yellow with a nice three finger rocky head. Semi transparent-semi cloudy.

S - nice aroma. Lots of banana and clove typical in hefe's. Banana is more forward. Very fragrant.

T - typical spicey clove and banana from hefe yeast. There is a noticeable clove finish providing a slight bitter finish. Yeast profiles dominates any wheat or malt.

M - on the thin side.

D - very drinkable. I am assuming this comes in at 5%ish and paired with a hot day and thinner mouthfeel I can drink these down easily.

Overall, a nice beer from a brewery just getting going. Its been a little while since Ive been into hefes but I'd like a touch more more cloudiness and a little more wheat coming through in the flavor.
