Dark, opaque brown-black, with a wisp of brown lace atop it and a motor oil-like slickness shimmering across the top.
The aroma is thick, full of chewy oatmeal, hops, and roasted malts. The flavor is more of the same, with a nice crispness of hops in the finish that help to cut the chewy, slickness.
Pretty easy drinking. A nice, hearty brew for the cold weather.

On tap at the Carolina Brewery. A used motor oil appearance, with a thick and rocky tan head that laced the glass nicely. A choco-coffee aroma is noted. The taste follows suit, with chocolate and toasted nuts standing out. The oatmeal is also slightly detectable as well. Some bittering effect from the hops, too. Finishes with a hefty dose of creamyness on the palate with a dash of bitterness. Mouthfeel is slightly on the thin side, but given the ABV limit, it's pretty good. A good stout and one that I'd try again.
