As the Curiosity series moves from adolescence to adulthood, we went back to basics with this single hop Double IPA featuring Mosaic! The intent with Twenty was to capture the essence of Mosaic as purely as possible, thus a dead simple malt bill of just 2-row, light crystal, and dextrin malt bill was paired with a super neutral ale yeast yielding a perfectly complementary base upon which Mosaic can shine! We smell and taste orange find, mango, and a bit of berry punctuated by a lemon peel finish. Soft, dry and delicious - be warned, it drinks like a pale ale!

Another fabulous offering from tree house. Others have described the beer adequately. We had a blind tasting at my house two weeks ago pitting Curiosity 20 against Lawson's SOS. There was a lot of discussion about the relative merits and everyone was very close but the final vote was 5-0 in favor of C20. I wish I had some left.

TREE HOUSE CURIOSITY TWENTY DIPA 8/22/15
Acquired 7/31 from the brewery. Now three weeks old.
a: Clear dark gold with a finger thick white head which receded to patchy surface foam and dense lacing.
s: Quite intense citrus along with some light floral notes. Later some grassy notes emerge.
t: Intense citrus and pine resin over a full bready malt base. Bitterness lingers at the sides of the tongue of an otherwise dry finish.
m: Medium to full, almost oily smooth with great body and moderate carbonation tingle.
o: Exceptionally hefty and tasty DIPA, just about everything going for it. A new Tree House favorite.

Cracked open a fresh 750mL swingtop during a bottle share, courtesy of Michael. Thanks Mike! Poured into a snifter glass, nice deep orange color with considerable cloudiness, decent head that could be woken up with some agitation. Absolutely lovely aroma on this. Instant grapefruit rind as soon as you bring it up to smell, some other tropical fruits in the back as well. Really great flavor too, just a total juice-bomb. Strong tropical fruit, pineapple, leafy mosaic hopiness, and a restrained but still present malt sweetness. Hop taste lingers in your mouth long after you've had the beer. For 8% it's got the right amount of body, too, erring on the side of deceptively light. Really great one-timer from Tree House.
