Big bright white head. The body is a hazy gold.
It smells of orange and straw.
I get a grassiness and a honey sweetness. Those good flavors don't hold up long due to a bitter and slight metallic flavor going on in the background that just throws this whole flavor train off the tracks.
It has a light body, medium carbonation, with a watery mouthfeel, and overall refreshing.

A- Golden, slight chill haze, tight white head with nice layers of lace
S- Bready, earthy and herbal hop notes, slightly phenolic and I actually get a little something hot and stinging at the end, like ethanol, but it is not unpleasant
T- dry, refreshing bread, slight phenol finish giving way to lingering herbal hops
M- This beer has great, tight carbonation. Finish is almost spritzy, and the flavor sticks to the whole mouth. Makes it refreshing
O- Nice beer for a hot day, which is good and bad. As the beer warmed up the complexity came out, but on the hot days I would want to drink it I would probably want it to be cool

Poured into a Due South Brewing Co. snifter. The bottom of the can says 042 which I will assume is a Julian date meaning it was canned in February.
A- Pours a light amber color with a 1/2 inch white head that retains decently before becoming a thin ring around the edge of the glass and a sheer patch of surface foam. Thin, semi-resilient lacing.
S- Has a good, vibrant aroma of Saison yeast and hops with some spice and banana notes.
T- Standard saison flavor with some mild hop bitterness and some light fruity esters. A bit of spice. Ends up drinking more like a witbier.
M- Crisp and semi-tangy with medium carbonation and a lightish body.
O- Nothing to scream about but it's a nice sessionable saison.

Saison in a can? Yes, please, and thank you to St. Feuillien.
A thick and cloudy but still bright orange-gold color, this saison looks the part. Tight bubbly activity continues the entire time, serving to substantiate a thick head of almost pure white foam after it drops from just over one finger. Patchy and spotty lacing is at the light to moderate level.
At first a note of something sulfuric sneaks out, but it needs only a few moments to warm for it to really come together. It does have an herbal, floral and spicy presence to it, showing a bit more hops presnce than many of its counterparts would be so bold to. Coriander finishes it out.
Gently hoppy, the underlying floral notes almost set the foundation, but they balance well against bready malts and a sturdy citrus sweetness. Combined with a note of coriander, some perfumey notes, and a very gently peppery nip, and you've got a nicely complex, balanced, and well-rounded beer. The more I drink it, the more it comes together.
With a nicely robust body that's somehow still light enough, and certainly bright enough, to enjoy on a hot day, it seems like a year-rounder to me. It never loses it's gentle crispness, and carbonation is prefectly done. It keeps it full without filling and very smooth to boot.

Wow, cool can style.
A - Orange pour with a high white foam that retained well. Lacing is in patches on the glass. Visible carbonation bubble to the top.
S - Scents of citrus fruits, melon, some peppery spice and bready yeast.
T - Clean refreshing flavor. Initial tartness of lemon and orange blends with some peppery spice. Bready notes in the finish.
M - Crsip and refreshing, this is a perfect beer for a hot summer day. Some carbonation is noted.
O - Good import saison that is true to the style. Actually liked this more that Saison Dupont. And the cans will make this a nice option.

BELGIAN SAISON In A CAN!
Bright clear golden hue, super clingy bright white head. Lots of clove and spicy herbal notes on the nose, some barnyard and hay like scents as well. Honey and yeast.
Very clean for a saison, sweet bubblegum like flavor up front with honey and pear sweetness. Grain husks and yeast bite show up on the middle of the tongue while spicy hop flavors kick in on the back end with a touch of alcohol. Finishes clean dry and smooth. I like it
Nowhere close to the best saison I've ever had but BELGIAN SAISON IN A CAN for the summer? I'll be digging it.

A - Fairly dark orange yellow with a 1/4 inch of head that fizzes out rather quickly to a lace ring.
S - Smells of peppery spice, lemon peel, orange peel, and fruity sweet malts.
T - Quite crisp and flavorful at first it has a very solid hit of coriander and black pepper that seems overwhelming at first but quickly turn to a sweeter side in the finish. I also enjoy as it is cold has more of a lemon bite but when warmed it has more of a fruity orange taste. Hops and malts keep it constant without being too watery.
M - Light to medium it's definitely one of the lighter Saison's I have had. Tasty.
Overall I think my gripe is the 11.2 oz can I mean can't we have a pounder 16oz. or even straight up 12oz? Seems kind of expensive for the 3.19 I paid for this little can...

Appearance: Poured cask into 8 oz tulip. Light orange / amber color - a nice surprising contrast to all the other straw-colored Saisons out there. Nice 3 fingered, creamy white head. Highly carbed, but not on the same effervescent level as a lot of Saisons.
Smell: Complex candied citrus fruit, canteloupe. Sweet clementine. Maybe some slight Special B mixed in there - something slightly heavier smelling than just light or citrus fruits.
Taste: Again, a nice contrast to all the typical highly effervescent Duponts of the world. Orange over lemon. Various levels of sweetness over pure breezy farmhouse tartness or pure black pepper without being overly sweet. This differs from the session Saison or those making a Saison with a 15-25% Witte like grain bill. I love that it bucks the supposed trend of what an "authentic Saison" should be - I love Dupont, but this is more true to the spirit of Saison in my opinion - less guidelines, more variety. It is a black sheep in a great way. I probably like it more than most Saison enthusiasts do, and would compare it to the Southampton Saison - also an amber-like Saison.
Mouthfeel: Medium high carb, malt forward, in the middle of crisp and silky. I would guess the body is somewhere between 1.010 - 1.014
Overall: If you want to switch up your Saison experience without going full-on Dark Saison, this and Southampton are where its at. Not everyone has to drink a 3-5 SRM, lemon spritzer every time they want a Saison. Again, I respect the classic Dupont and enjoy it many times but I equally respect its orange brother.

an interesting saison, very tasty. pours a curiously clear brassy color for a saison, no sediment at all really, and an inch of big bubbled white head with okay retention. the nose is bright and springy, mildly spicy, and clear and distinguished. some light orchard fruit in the taste, which goes well with the yeast. the yeast has some gentle spice, but its still very summery. almost a white wine complex to this, and the malts contribute only a little bit of sweetness. not as intricate as some saisons, but a good example that this genre doesn't have to be rocket science. a very simple and elegant brew I would be proud to serve with any fine meal. it drinks easy at under 7% abv and with such jovial carbonation. this one sat in my fridge awhile, don't know what I was waiting for, but when I finally got to drinking it last night I loved it. one of the better saisons ive had in some time. usually the price of st. feuillien beers keep me from buying them, but if they are all this good, I will have to find a way to work my way through their lineup. this is pro.
