Notes:
Traditionally brewed seasonally in the barn and other farmhouse buildings, thus the name. This style almost died out due to the perception of being a “regular person’s beer” but was revived by craft and home brewers with the love of its diversified flavors. Cloudy amber color with some spicyness and earthy flavors from the yeast. This semi-dry, medium bitterness beer has been revitalized because of “regular people” loving great beer.

Big thanks to Todd for hooking me up with this one.
A massive pillowy head of foam sits atop a glowing burnt orange body.
Very floral and perfumy nose with fruit notes.
Very pleasant and easy going flavor. The floral and perfume notes are in the taste also, but lighter than the nose suggested. Light peach and apricot fruit taste with some very subtle white pepper spice.
Lighter on the carbonation, but it is very soft. Medium bodied.
Great drinkability and a fantastic overall saison. I'm not a huge fan of the style, but this one hits the mark for me. So glad I got to try this one.

Nice looking dark orangy color with a nice white head out of a can with a summer farm scene, an Ellie May, and snow flakes. Snow flakes? Well, winter is when Belgians start brewing farmhouse ales for the summer.
This has nice aroma thats a bit fruity. The flavor is light, tasty, slighty sweet, kinda tangy and a bit of fruit. It finishes off with a bitter hoppy flavor.
Goes well with a summer jazz fest like like one with Ryan Kisor and Joe Zawinul Syndicate. Enjoy.

I picked this one up on a trip through the Midwest this summer. This is my first canned Saison.
Charm pours a pale copper hue, with a light haze. It has a billowing eggshell head that sticks nicely and leaves good lace. The aroma doesn't have quite as much sourdough funk as many Saisons, but it's there. Straw and fresh cut hay make up the rest of the nose.
In the mouth, the taste is well balanced. Dry and slightly honey sweet grains are followed by a peppery bitterness. The bitterness lingers and gets a little metallic late. The beer's body is dry, medium-full and has the right level of fizz.
Overall, a very nice beer from a little brewery that has yet to make it to my side of the country.

A pint can, brewed for Okoboji Brewing by Great River in Davenport, IA. Labeling is plastic wrap over the can.
Poured a coppery red with a medium foamy head that didn't leave much lace.
Smell is very mildly spicy, malty and yeasty.
Taste is quite malty, peppery, almost a hint of anise. Some very mild funk. Lightly fruity underneath. Balanced by bittering hop to very mild sweetness.
Mouthfeel is medium, carbonation is moderate.
Overall this beer is clearly the best of Okoboji Brewing's recipes, even if it is just an average example of a saison.

A: Copper hue with a large foamy head; lacing is pretty good
S: Grainy and bready--sweet, toasty malts on top of a fruitiness--pears, apples, subtle banana, some pepper aromas too
T: Pleasant bready malts; some herbal spicy flavors complement the malts; also a subtle fruity bouquet of flavors (apples, pears) come through in the end
F: Lightly carbonated and pretty creamy; good medium body
O: Such a nice, drinkable beer; this is really a nice surprise

The beer pours copper, amber and dark orange in color, yet bright. There is a thick, creamy head of foam, off-white to very light brown in color.
The aroma is true to the style, very yeasty, with lots of estery fruits, overripe tropical fruits and melons, and a touch of banana.
The taste follows the aromas, lots of spice notes, and a moderately bitter finish.
I am generally not a fan of very yeasty saisons, but if you like this style, this is a good one.
