Bright golden orange colored body. Slight haze but free of sediment. Off white heads perched atop. Head recedes back slowly leaving an attractive chain of moth eaten lacing surrounding the glass.

Hop forward APA with a focus on the citrus and tropical fruits. Tangelo, mango and pineapple scents, soft candied fruit just behind. Pale malt base is rather subtle.

The flavor is similar to the aroma albeit less intense. Citrus and tropical fruit flavors are greeted by a bit of pine and pith which provide a bit of contrast. Toasted, slightly bready malt base lies below. The more is more apparent in the flavor but present at an appropriate level.

Medium bodied APA. Carbonation is lively, keeping the beer a bit lighter and refreshing. Finish is dry, very enjoyable.

Dear Liza is the second in the series of Pale Ale's Bell's has done using experimental hops. Both Hole in the Bucket and Dear Liza suit my palate more than Bell's Pale. I hope to see this hop/hop combination used more often going forward. Very tasty beer.

Enjoyed on tap at the brewery tasting room, listed as an experimental ale. Cloudy medium body, and the beer is lacey. Good drinkaility, the carbonation is right there. Yeasty aroma. Not what you expect from an APA, which tend to be citrus and hoppy. Full mouthfeel. Worth a try.

I had this on-tap at the Eccentric Cafe. Poured into a pilsner glass.

Appearance: Pours a slightly cloudy orange amber color with a layer of white head that leaves some lacing.

Sweet and malty, mild fruity notes, perhaps apricot. There is also some mild citrus hops in there.

Taste: Quite malt forward but not very sweet. Bready, nutty, and toasted with a citrus peel hop profile.

Mouthfeel: Medium body with carbonation just on the high side. The finish is very dry.

Overall: I really enjoyed this beer. It had more of a toasted flavor than a regular pale ale. I would have another.

On tap at Bell's Eccentric Cafe last weekend.

Pours a nice, clear apricot color with a fluffy white head and some good lacing on the way down. The nose brings forward a heavy dosage of tropical fruits plus citrus in the background. Heavy, heavy tropical fruit notes. A bit of spice there as well. I'm guessing this used plenty of New Zealand hops. Really impressive.

Flavor isn't quite as bold or pungent, but more subtle and in mix with the malt, which was ever-so-slightly bready. Other than that, light citrus and hoppy spice plus loads of tropical fruits. Light body with crisp carbonation and a fairly-dry finish. Supremely well done. Please make this a regular offering!
