from notes,
on draft at the brewery
A nice nose, peaches mainly, little to no mango. Color was off putting, must have been white peaches(not the bright orange I was expecting from my mango sour experiments). Peach flavor was huge and fantastic , mango was missing, nice and tart like all the other weise beers at nightshift, but and I mean a big BUT, serious cardboard flavor on the finish. it was actually gross. Something happened during the fermentation process and O2 got in there. I am very surprised they bottled and served this. I really hope they redo this and fix the flaws because this beer has serious potential and could be very good.

Huge diacetyl bomb nose.

Add another bottle to the bad bottle list. This had a very overwhelming nose of buttery popcorn. So amazingly buttery it was as if it was purposefully made to smell like movie theater popcorn. Mouth feel was fine and taste wasn't as bad as the nose but the taste had strong butter presence as well. Disappointing, most did not finish glass when bottle was split 5 ways.

Wow, very surprised by this.
The nose doesn't offer much of interest, a generic sour smell with a bit of fruit. Hard to determine what you;re getting.
The taste is a different animal, with expressive peach, mango, and tropical fruits flavors. Their is also plenty of puckering sour notes to compliment the fruit flavors.
Mouthfeel is right on, with good carbonation and a nicely balanced acidity.
Overall, this is one of the better berliners I've had in awhile.

Somewhat surprised by the mixed reviews on this one. Even a few friends locally were hit or miss on this one. I personally thought it was one of the better 2014 sours NSB released. That being said, I just popped a bottle a couple weeks ago and it has aged very well. If you like tarty sours you will love it.

Mango, vinegar, cucumbers. An odd combo of flavors.

More mango than peach. Some tartness. Balance could be improved, some wheat.

Nice use of Mango, not overly aggressive but present. Less tart than other Night Shift Weiss beers.
