Standard Market is a nice upscale grocer in Westmont with everything from a sushi bar, to juice bar, to an actual butcher shop/smoker. The produce is great with a huge selection, all fresh, with many choices. The deli counter is stacked with high quality salumi (La Quercia) and cold cuts. The meat counter is stacked with heirloom pork, grass fed beef, and insanely fresh seafood. I was told by the butcher that they receive half cow and full hog and do all the butchering in-house, smoking bacon as well. The beer/wine/liquor selection is back by the well thought out cheese selection and small cafe area. The prices are a little high but the quality is there.
The beer selection.... There's a small but well thought out section of craft with around 90-100 bombers and single bottles in the cooler and a wine rack full of warm bottles, mostly 750s. A good smattering of 6-packs fill the rest of the cooler space including Metro, Founders, Ska, Revolution, Ballast Point, etc. Multiple Pipeworks, Timmerman's Oude Gueuze, Boulevard, Yo-Ho, and Spiteful all make appearances and prices run in line with Binny's. The beer guy is quick to answer questions and goes out of his way, with a smile none the less, to find out the answers to any questions he doesn't know off the top of his head. This place probably isn't worth going out of your way for the beer selection alone, since Binny's have a much larger selection, the when you combine the cheese, meats, produce, and beer all under one roof I would certainly recommend a stop.

The Standard Market owners also own Bakerfield Resturant( more upscale) across the street. There is a second Standard market opening soon in Lincoln Park. The market has a restaurant the Standard Grill with sandwhichs, burgers, pizza, and salads.A row of bottled beers are on a wall section to the left where orders are taken . There are craft beers on tap in the bar located in the liquior section. There are be tastings or samplings listed on their website.
Within the buiding is a small liquior store with a nice beer and wine selection. There is a deli with a take home dinner called "What's for Dinner?" with a complete meal for 2 On the website is the days special . You can create and build your own meal wth individual selection avaliable in the store.iThere is a bakery. They have a produce section with wide variety to chose from.
The Standard Market is a one stop shopping destination if you need to pickup food and beverages for a party, sporting event,or office event. They have a catering dept and a large selection to pickup last minute items for a meal

My wife and I have been living with my parents since moving back to Chicago until we move into our new house. Luckily, this place is right down the street and within walking distance.
There's a bar with 6-8 taps right when you walk in, and then another 12-tap bar in the back with plenty of seating around it ("The Cube"). Taps rotate pretty regularly. The selection is fairly heavily focused on local breweries (Urban Legend, Solemn Oath, Revolution) with the remaining beers generally being hop-centric.
The bottle selection isn't too large, but the six pack selection is good, with loads of local stuff. Belgian 750s are on a wine rack, and then there's a decent selection of bombers, again with the focus on local beers (Spiteful, Pipeworks, 18th Street, etc).
Atmosphere is pretty great. There's plenty of space, the bartenders are very responsive, and it's nice being able to grab a beer in the middle of grocery shopping. Aside from the beer, place has outstanding produce and a great meat selection. Most everything is fresh; there isn't much in the way of packaged goods.
Food is pretty great, though limited. There are some flatbreads, and then a good cheese selection. Also plenty of cheeses, breads, and jams to take home right next to the bar.
All in all, a great spot.

This place is not what you think when you walk in. It's a high end grocery store with the freshest of everything, including beer. Eric, the beer department manager, is helpful, friendly, and knowledgable about all beers from your basic pilsner to your DIPA. There is a small bar to have a few drafts where they have a rotating selection from week to week of about 6-10 beers. Tuesday nights, drafts are $3. You can't beat that. I love this place and will sacrifice price fro customer service and product knowledge anytime.
