Saw this on tap at the Meddlesome Moth in Dallas.
A: Medium brown with a cream-colored head.
S: Mostly caramel. Faint hints of spice--nutmeg and allspice.
T: Follows the nose with a few surprises. Lots of caramel maltiness, subdued spice, and a good deal of stonefruit as the beer warms. The high abv is extremely well-hidden. I would have pegged this beer as being no more than 6%.
M: Medium body and medium carbonation.
O: This is a great beer and an extraordinary interpretation of the style. It is a good deal drier than many other winter warmers. The fruit notes are much lighter than I was expecting---more stonefruit, less fig. An excellent high abv winter beer which is balanced, highly drinkable, and quite unique.

Wow! Had this at Union Bear in Dallas and HAD to have it again! Having it now at The Flying Saucer on the Lake!
A: dark ruby and carmelly
S: lightly spiced but not too much (this is not a holiday pie!)
T: yummy! Warm but not in an alcoholly way. Not overly spiced or sweet unlike a lot of Xmas or winter beer
M: medium as it should be its not a stout or porter, perf!
overall: another hit from Peticolas! Again I can be proud to be a Texan and have something the Cali or Snow town (Den) boys can't have!!

I had this beer on tap at Good Friend last night. This is a nice spicy winter ale. The aroma of cinnamon and allspice was very pleasant and the taste was not overpowered with the spice which is something I typically can't stand in a spiced winter ale (I had the Harpoon winter ale later that night and it was way overpowering compared to this beer). I felt that it was very well balanced and the high alcohol content was almost imperceptible. I was actually quite surprised when I was told what the ABV was. So far I have not been disappointed in anything Peticolas has done and this is no exception. I was even told that the brewmaster/owner of Peticolas thinks that this may be the best beer that he has brewed to date.

On tap at The Common Table. Glad to have a new beer from Peticolas on tap.
The beer pours a dark brown color with an off-white head. The aroma is full of caramel malt, cinnamon and toffee. A very spicy, wintery smelling beer. The flavor is more of the same. I get a lot of cinnamon and brown sugar notes, as well as some allspice and nutmeg. There is also a good dose of caramel malt. What is absent is the alcohol, which is nearly undetectable. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation. A very nice winter beer. Probably my favorite so far from Peticolas.
