Purchased fresh from the brewery. According to the label: Maris otter malt, hopped with apollo, simcoe, and cascade, plus a late addition of brown sugar.

Slightly hazed apricot honey colored with a thick and dimpled off-white head that lingers until the glass is drained. Inviting aroma of sweetish honey and biscuity malt, some grassy hop aromas.

Flavor is bright hops right upfront, clean and fresh, a little brash, laced with alcohol, citrus and pine, some tangerine. Even malt flavors ride beneath providing a good balance to the hops, but there's good bitterness here to please the hopheads.

Rich and full mouthfeel, creamy and satisfying. This is a very good beer, IPA fans and hopheads should seek it out. Glad to see it birthed in CT.

A slightly hazed rusty amber colored brew with a proud off-white head and ample lacing. The aroma offers an interesting and enjoyable blend of bright citrus amd biscuit barnyard grain. Smells like it should be very sessionable and good! The taste is a somewhat startling combination of peaty malt with a sharp citrus pepper hop. It’s earthy and hints at some booze, even a little scotch ale ideas here but the hop bite keeps it in the IPA ballpark. Medium bodied with good carbonation for a kind of frothy feel. This earthy IPA is pretty different and plenty likeable. I would revisit this any time.

First off, careful when opening. Really carbonated and burst from the bottle with gusto. Appearance was ordinary, with the exception of the half glass of head. Not much grapefruit or lemon hop presence in the aroma or taste despite what the label leads you to expect. Not very hoppy for an IPA, and the brown sugar is pretty dominant in the aftertaste. Overall it is okay, but can be a lot more balanced.

Appearance - Served from a 32oz growler, and poured into a 12 oz footed glass. A bit hazy and floaty particles but still appealing, nice head with lacing

Smell - loved the smell, with tangerines, grapefruit and a little yeastyness, seemed a tad more complex then some american ipas

taste - nice malt sweetness, balanced with a lot of hop flavors , mostly it seems the west coast types, some pine, a lot of citrus flavors, well balanced and not that bitter at all really

Mouthfeel - nice and creamy and drinkable

Overall - I really enjoyed sipping on this the other night, and according to the brewer it does change up, interested in continuously trying it if I can make it down there. Would like it a tad more bitter, but like the citrus flavors!

Purchased a bomber at liquor depot on 7/14 consumed it that day.

Pulled it from the fridge after chilling for a few hours.

A - the freaking beer exploded from the bomber and foamed all over the f'ing place. I lost about 1/4 or more just to foam because it was so overcarbonated. Looks like they go with natural carbonation instead of forced since there was a bunch of yeast in suspension after the eruption. Anyway, after I got some of it in my russian river tulip glass it looks pretty good. Hazy golden orange with some sediment hanging around and a nice big ass sticky off white head. Lacing is scant but rings of foam persist about the meniscus.

S - the perfumy floral, orange blossom, pine and grapefruit nose is pretty damn inviting, it's short of pungent but damn impressive. Lots of biscuty, bready malt aroma and hints of caramel in there too, what a nice compliment, oh my!

T - It strikes a great balance between biscuitybready malt versus orange, piney and grapefruity hops. And I think there is some diacetyl in the dryish finish. It has that slick mouthfeel, deceptively full malt profile and slight toffee like buttery flavor that suggests it. MAybe it's just the yeast sediment I'm tasting though. it's definitely fermented with a low or moderate attenuating British yeast strain or my nemesis...ringwood. No! haha! Sam Caligone became a millionare by using ringwood and never doing a diacetyl rest ever, why shouldn't others try it?? j/k!

M - Medium to full bodied with crazy carbonation, it died down after a bit and became normal...haha! The drink is nice and slick, mouth coating, with a powerful yet not overwhelming bitterness. Everything is in check. It shows a welcome and drying finish that leaves an orange creamsicle flavor behind, that's damn pleasant. I dig it. Malt borders on cloying leaving a sweet stickiness behind in the mouth 30 seconds after swallowing. Maybe I'm hooked on west coast style ipas, ok I am, but it's just a tad sweet for an ipa. I like them dry, assertive and in your face.

O - a monumental effort with good execution. So there are some faults like the carbonation and some diacetyl. They are forgivable even if it's a fault for an IPA in my and BJCP's book but damn enjoyable and a good drink.

Don't let my rating fool you! Try it! Especially if you're a CTer who loves to support local beer! It's worth your time and I guarantee you'll like it. Even if it does blow up in your face lol!

Deep golden/copper color, 1 inch white head fades to skim.

Smells of citrusy hops…wait, creamy citrusy hops. Some malt in there too. Not roasty, but ..creamy.

Taste is a bright and full flavored fruity, piney, bitter, citrus snap. Yet, creamy mouthfeel and not heavy.

A real winner. I‘ve tried this several times at the brewery, and in growlers to go. So good its crazy. The 7.2% abv hits me fast with this one though. Wish I could drink it all day.

A - Orange/amber in color with a nice head that holds up as you drink. Leaves a light lacing.

S - Prominent citrus smell of grapefruits. Appealing hop smell.

t - Nice hop bitterness taste that is balanced throughout the duration of the drink. Very drinkable and finishes well leaves you wanting more.

m - medium body mouth feel with a nice bitter hop kick to it.

o - A tasty citrusy IPA with a bitter hop kick throughout the duration of the drink. The brewer is playing around with the formulation to improve the taste even more so I definitely look forward to tasting the newer versions of this already tasty IPA.

Served on-tap at Relic Brewing in Plainville, Conn.

A: Medium orange-amber color with a thin, frothy head of beige carbonation which held up nicely and left a bit of lace which was sustained by persistent carbonation.

S: Loads of citrusy, pine and musty grapefruit rinds on the nose imparted by a blend of garden variety and specialty hops.

T: Nice, balanced yet satisfying hop concentration from the get-go, with a blend of Apollo, Nugget and Pacific Jade hops shining through. A toasted, buttery cracker and apricot fruitiness pops up before leaning into a slightly smoky, lemongrass finish.

M: Medium-full bodied IPA with a decent amount of hop pull and hot alcohol bitterness.

O: A nice, herbal, grassy and citrusy American IPA that will only get better as the hop varieties and weights are toyed with over the years. I say over the years because this over-7% ABV IPA drinks like a session but satisfies like a big, brash American brew. I look forward to future incarnations for comparison.
